Standout Stars: Who shone the brightest in the big win vs the Rams?
Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb

If you had CeeDee Lamb on your roster in your league championship game, congratulations.

In all likelihood his 56 points carried you to the title.

If it didn’t? Ouch, the rest of your lineup needs to hang its head in shame.

Lamb’s big night pushed him to the top-scoring receiver in fantasy football and 11th-highest overall for the year.

Thanks to Lamb’s efforts, Dak Prescott also had a solid outing. Brandin Cooks, Brandon Aubrey, and the Cowboys’ defense all hit double-digits this week as well.

Offense

Prescott finished with 32.4 points in a standard PPR scoring format for the week, despite the one interception.

Prescott was fourth-highest for the week among quarterbacks with Lamar Jackson’s 46.7 topping the position.

With one week to play, Josh Allen tops quarterbacks and all players with 508.05 points. Jalen Hurts is second at 500.3.

Prescott is third at 471.1 and he recorded the 11th-highest total among all players this week too.

Tony Pollard failed to reach double-digits in scoring for the third straight week. He had just 9.4 points.

Pollard has tumbled to 16th among running backs for the year at 224.15 points.

Christian McCaffrey has 426.7 to lead all running backs. Kyren Williams is second at 322.1.

Lamb’s monster night powered him past Tyreek Hill for the top spot among receivers. Lamb has 413.6 points to Hill’s 399.05.

Cooks had a strong 16-point effort as he has become the Cowboys’ second-leading receiver in scoring lately.

Jake Ferguson finished with just six points. Ferguson is 9th among tight ends with 147.75 points.

Geroge Kittle leads rookie Sam LaPorta 217.35 to 214.20 with Travis Kelce at 212.35 for the top spot among tight ends.

Deuce Vaughn (1.7), Jalen Tolbert (1.5), and Peyton Hendershot (1.25) were the only other Cowboys to record points in fantasy football this week.

Defense/Special Teams

Brandon Aubrey hit two long field goals and a pair of point after tries for an 11-point effort.

Aubrey extended his lead among kickers to 12 points over Justin Tucker. Aubrey has 171 points for the season.

DeMarcus Lawrence led the Cowboys’ defensive attack on Saturday against the Lions.

The Cowboys’ defense collected 10 points, snapping a two-week slide under double-digits scoring.

The unit has slipped to third this year at 286.7 points. Baltimore leads the way with 308.8 with Cleveland second at 289.8.

My FFL

Don’t you just love it when your team loses in the semi-finals and then scores enough points the next week to have beaten the team that wins your league championship?

Yeah, it happened to me again this year.

After getting steamrolled last week by 70 points by an 8-8-1 team, my Scribe’s Penman would have won the title game by seven points this week.

We’ll pause a minute while I go bite a Redwood tree in half. As I’ve said before: Sometimes you get the bear, sometimes the bear gets you.

Yes, its a virtual trophy but the 2008 title was real enough.

For those of you celebrating league championships today: Well done!

For those of you with Week 18 championship games? Y’all crazy.

Well done to you too!

For the rest of us we’re relegated to thinking about what might have been. For those of us in keeper and dynasty formats we’re looking at who gets cut for 2024.
