Cowboys 2026 draft continues to get better after Packers 2nd straight loss

The Dallas Cowboys are sitting at 3-5-1, and we understand the issues they have on the defensive side of the ball, but after making a few trades last week that included getting Quinnen Williams for at least two more years was a solid move.

As we sit here about the start of week 11, after Jerry Jones traded away Micah Parsons a week before the season, everyone picked the Packers to win it all, but have you seen them play the last two weeks?

Sure, the defense is really good, but Jordan Love and that offense has people talking today. After losing back-to-back games at home to the Panthers and the Eagles last night, they now sit with a record of 5-3-1.

2026 Draft

The Green Bay Packers are going to make the playoffs, but they still have to play the Bears twice, the Ravens, Broncos and the Lions.

With their own pick, Dallas is sitting right outside the top 10 at pick 12, but that will give or take a few spots depending on how they finish the year. They do play five teams with a .500 record or better out of the last eight games, and with this defense, who know how they will finish.

As for the Packers, those back-to-back losses are huge for that spot in the 2026 draft.

Everyone thought the Packers would win it all after the trade happened, and they looked good until the last two weeks. That offense does not scary anyone, they have been banged up, but if that is the level of play they are going to get from Jordan Love, instead of the Packers having a bottom five pick, they could slide into the 19-20 range.

They are currently 21st, and there is a lot of wiggle room there.

Would I rather see the Dallas Cowboys go on a run, win 9 or 10 games and make the playoffs? Of course, I would. I just don’t see it happening with the teams left on the schedule.

Their defense doesn’t have the personnel to play the type of scheme that Matt Eberflus wants to run, and he won’t change it.

At the end of the day, they are paying way less for Williams, who have maybe the best running stopping DT in football for the next two years, two first round picks that are going to be used on defense.

If Dallas does not go on a run and make the playoffs, they will be sitting pretty when April rolls around.

Let’s hope that murderer’s row of teams, except the Giants can send the Packers on a 1-4 or 2-3 tailspin and make their pick more middle of the round. I know it hurts draft position if the Cowboys should go 6-2 or 7-1 down the stretch but I want to be in the playoffs even if we don’t advance far. I still think this teams can improve by making mid-level FA acquisitions and rid themselves of the contracts of Diggs, Steele and both safeties. I wouldn’t mind if the Cowboys drafted a DE in #1 and another in #2 or #3
