Thanksgiving may still be a few weeks away, but the Dallas Cowboys pass rushers are all set for a little preholiday feasting on Monday night football. No, Turkey isn’t the main entrée tonight. That would be New York Giants Quarterback Daniel Jones.
The Dallas Cowboys best chance to sweep the New York Giants for the second consecutive year in a row is to get to QB Daniel Jones. Luckily, I’m predicting they can do just that.
Let me throw some numbers at you to put things into perspective. 21… The number of times the Giants rookie QB has been sacked in the last six games. 7… The number of interceptions Daniel Jones has thrown the last six weeks. 8… The number of times he’s fumbled. 6… The number of fumbles he’s lost.
Hey Daniel Jones, turn over the ball much!?
I don’t know about you, but Daniel Jones’ proneness to turn over the ball and his offensive line’s inability to keep him upright has me more than a little bit excited about this Monday night prime time matchup. I’m sure the Dallas Cowboys defense, particularly their pass rushers would agree.
I’m sure DeMarcus Lawrence, Robert Quinn, Maliek Collins, and the newly acquired DE/DT Michael Bennett are all fully aware how much rookie QB Daniel Jones has been sacked this season. They are probably licking their chops for the chance to plant him in the ground on more than one occasion, much like they’ve done to Eli Manning over the years.
Believe it or not, but I believe the fearsome foursome of Lawrence, Quinn, Collins, and Bennett could have their way with the Giants OL Monday night. On any given day Lawrence and Quinn by themselves are a handful of to deal with coming off the edges, but then you add Bennett and Collins to the mix from the inside and it’s just nightmarish to think about the havoc this foursome can create.
DeMarcus Lawrence and Company couldn’t have asked for a better set of circumstances to welcome Daniel Jones into this heated NFC East division rivalry. You can bet they are going to do their best to make the rookie as uncomfortable as possible. They want to get under his skin and put him in the dirt as much as possible.
There’s blood in the water and it will be a race to see which one of the Dallas Cowboys pass rushers gets to QB Daniel Jones first to take the biggest bite. It has to be a terrible feeling to feel like you’re nothing more than chum of the water, but what can you do when you have sharks already circling you?
