DAL 25, WAS 10: Defense dominates Commanders to earn 3rd straight victory

Four field goals by and touchdowns from and were enough for the Cowboys to hold off the Commander's 25 to 10, improving their record to 3-and-1 on the season.

A busted coverage by Washington early in the 4th quarter allowed Lamb to break free for a 30-yard touchdown reception that made it a two-possession game that pretty much put the game away.

Cooper Rush avoided a pair of interceptions in the first half by from the Washington ; Rush ended the game 15-for-27, 223 yards, and two touchdowns.

As I shift to the defense, The Cowboy's defense struggled against the run like normal, giving up over 130 yards on the ground, but that didn't matter; a dominant performance again for the best unit on this football team.

Although only able to register two , the defense found themselves in the face of all day, forcing quick decisions, only allowing one touchdown all game.

The MVPs of the game were arguably WR Lamb and CB , both players created game changing plays. Lamb broke the game open with the first play of the 4th quarter with a touchdown reception. He finished the day with 6 catches for 97 yards and one touchdown.

Diggs had an interception near the end of the first half, and made a huge pass breakup on 4th down in the endzone when the game was still within reach. Diggs is proving to the many doubters that he can be game changer without needing to take the ball away.

At the end of the day, if you would have told me that the Cowboys would be 3-and-1 without I would have been jumping for joy. Rush is going exactly what he needs to do to win football games.

I also loved the fact that even though the didn't have a great stat line, didn't get away from it. He ran the ball 27 times. I love it.

Cooper Rush sits at 3-and-0 on the season and 4-and-0 overall, dating back to his win last season. Recent news has released that Dak Prescott is eyeing next Sunday's game against the Rams for a possible return.

We should learn by mid-week who will start next week on the road against the defending Champs.

Great post. And yes…defending the run is and will be a problem. Hopefully not gutted like it has been for a number of years now.

    Mario Martinez

I don’t believe We need to worry about the defense stopping the run, this defense is about being aggressive, pressuring the QB, and bringing the pain, aswell as playing smart,…

I’m more concerned with rushing Dak back too soon, I would prefer working Him in at a limited amount of snaps, depending on how He looks, (leave Him in or preparing for the following week) Unless Dak is 100% He shouldn’t be Starting, this team is doing enough to win, and keep in mind “they haven’t even peaked yet” DC4L!!!!!

We do need to be concerned about stopping the run. Washington ran some of the exact plays the Niners ran against Dallas in the playoffs. Zone stretch runs work all day against this D. Our D needs to be more disciplined against the run and LVE’s pursuit angles are horrible.
