The Dallas Cowboys are sitting at 1-2-1 after the first four weeks of the 2025 NFL season.
They face a New York Jets team that has moved on from Aaron Rodgers and has a new coaching staff, led by Aaron Glenn.
The last time they faced a team coached by Glenn, the Cowboys got rocked by the Lions, 47-9. The last time they faced Justin Fields, he was the quarterback for the Chicago Bears.
Dallas won that game 49-29, but they made Fields look a lot better than he actually is.
The last time Dallas played an 0–4 Jets’ team? October 13, 2019, in New York.
The 3–2 Cowboys fell behind 21-3 and fell short at the end, losing to the Jets 24-22.
Dallas cannot afford a repeat of history today.
- Who: New York Jets
- Where: at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ
- When: Today, Noon (CDT)
- How (to watch): FOX
The Cowboys cannot afford to let winnable games get away from them with the brutal end of the year schedule they have. They’ve already lost one, to Chicago, two weeks ago.
Losing another one to the Jets today would almost be fatal to the team’s playoff hopes.
A 2-2-1 start is much better than a 1-3-1 start.
All-Time Marks
Dallas is 8-5 all-time against the Jets, and 5-3 when playing at New York. However, the Cowboys have lost the last two times they’ve played the Jets on the road.
Dallas dominated the Jets at AT&T Stadium 30-10 the last time the teams met in 2023.
Rodgers did not play in that game, having torn his Achilles heel the week before.
The Cowboys are 34-26-2 in Week 5 games, with one game lost to the 1982 strike and two bye weeks falling on this week of the schedule. Of concern is the 11-17-1 record when playing on the road in the fifth week.
This will be the first time the Cowboys and Jets have met in the fifth week of the year.
It will be the fourth-straight year that Dallas has played on the road in the fifth week of the season.
The Prediction
The pressure will be on Dallas today, more so than the Jets. At 0-4, the Jets’ hopes of the postseason are pretty much done.
The Cowboys have back-to-back games, this one and the Week 6 game at Carolina, that should be wins.
That being said, the Jets will be a much tougher team than the one they manhandled two years ago. And this is a road game with the Cowboys already 0-2 on the road this year.
Prediction: Cowboys 23, Jets 21
My prediction: Jets 28 Dallas 21. Breese Hall will be the difference maker. Cowboys have too many of their better players sidelined that will hamper any chance of winning. Secondary will still be a problem.
The players we’re missing are on the offensive line, not the defensive line!! So how is Breece Hall gonna be the difference maker when he’s not playing our offensive line!? That’s one, Secondly, I’m replying to your comment after the game, and I’m happy to say that you have no idea what your talking about!! Literally Every part of your comment was wrong!! I will say Hall had a good game, but he ended up being a big reason for us dominating that game!! His fumble turned that game around for us and we dominated from that point on!!
I’m gonna tell you like I tell everybody else that are fake cowboys fans, if you can’t get behind your team, then you should find a new team!! And you are at the top of those people!! How can you think so low of your supposed that you think they’ll lose to Justin Fields and the winless jets!? That’s ridiculous!! You should definitely find a different team because your definitely not a true Cowboys fan!!
Agree, they must win these winnable games.
I have no doubt in my mind that we can win these games!! It’s already too late for the jets game, cause we already won, but I was behind them the whole time, I knew we would win that game!! And I feel the same about the Carolina game!! We have the number 1 offense in the NFL, so we don’t have any problems scoring points, and as long as our defense keeps gettin better every week, we’ll be able to beat about any team we go up against!!
