Last week was a heartbreaking moment for the Dallas Cowboys fanbase, however, good news shines upon the state of Texas as Defensive Coordinator Dan Quinn will be staying put as the Cowboys’ defensive coach.
This is great news for all fans!
Many of us were worried that Quinn would leave the Cowboys due to his massive success this year.
Dan Quinn had an all-year-round, top-three defense in the NFL this season. With the amount of talent he has shown in himself, it’s safe to say that Quinn would be taking the next head coaching job available.
He attended interviews with teams such as the Arizona Cardinals, Denver Broncos, and Indianapolis Colts within the previous weeks.
In the end, Quinn decided to return back to the Cowboys and stay another year with these amazing players.
Head Coach Mike McCarthy, when asked about how he feels about Dan Quinn returning, stated:
“We’re all extremely excited to have Dan back, This is big for us. It gives us continuity. Frankly, on a personal note, I can’t tell you how thankful I am.”
It’s crazy when you realize that this is a man who took the Atlanta Falcons to the Super Bowl back in the 2016 season, and he’s deciding to return even with all of his success.
Quinn seems like he is very loyal to those he coaches, and he has also stated many times in the past that players like Micah Parsons and Cornerback Trevon Diggs are very fun guys to coach and be around.
Quinn obviously loves what he is doing and he knows that success is likely to grow over the next season.
Although Quinn will be returning, it seems there will be a large amount of change among the Cowboys coaching staff in the following weeks.
This news will not be troubling Quinn, for he is practically locked in for next season.
At the moment, it seems that the Cowboys will be getting back a lot of their defenders for next year. This is a great opportunity for Quinn as he will have more time to upgrade their skill level once again.
Quinn has shown that he is definitely an amazing defensive coordinator and has marked his spot in the NFL. It takes a lot of hard work to turn a team that’s known for its offense, into a team that gets recognition for its defense.
The future of the Dallas Cowboys defense looks great, and I am nearly certain that next year the Cowboys will only become better.
With Dan Quinn, there seems to be no “peak performance” of any of his teams.
There is always growth between his players and himself and I cannot wait to see what he has in store for next season.
Hello Tony! Dan Quinn staying with the Cowboys is the best news Cowboys Nation has heard since that terrible loss at San Francisco. Dan Quinn was interviewed by three teams. Thank goodness for us he didn’t accept any of those offers. Now Kellen Moore had interest from only the Carolina Panthers. I’m sure they had a quick change of heart after seeing him at his worse against the 49’ers defense. Kellen Moore is overrated and in over his head at the NFL level. He made an incredible mistake not accepting the Boise State head coaching job. I know we’re stuck with him for the foreseeable future because any GM with eyes and a brain in his head WOULD NEVER HIRE KELLEN MOORE!!!!
Hey there Lawrence. I know, this Dan Quinn news is amazing! Looks like the panthers didn’t want Kellen after all haha. We will soon see what his fate will be.
Time to move on from Kellen Moore. As for Quin…he is either waiting for some of the star D players (M parsons) to become FA or is awaiting the ax to fall on McCarthy.
