In real life, the Cowboys 28-23 loss to the Eagles was disappointing. But fantasy football owners with Cowboys on their rosters had a solid week.
So, if KaVontae Turpin is still available on your waiver wire it’s time to pick him up. Maybe even Jalen Tolbert too.
He is starting to make an impact on special teams. If Michael Gallup continues to struggle, Turpin might see more time at wide receiver too.
Offense
Dak Prescott had his third-straight 30-point or better week.
Using the standard PPR-scoring format from my league, Prescott had his highest weekly score, 40.15, against the Eagles.
The Cowboys’ quarterback is averaging just under 37 points over the last three weeks. He should be a solid starter for the rest of the season.
Prescott’s recent success has moved him to 12th overall among NFL quarterbacks in fantasy football.
Tony Pollard averaged over 21 points a week over the first three weeks. He is going at a 10-point a week clip since.
Pollard had just 10.2 points last week. Pollard has slipped to 20th among NFL running backs for the year.
Rico Dowdle had just 3.3 as the Cowboys’ running game continues to struggle on the field and in fantasy football too.
CeeDee Lamb has been the biggest beneficiary of Prescott’s resurgence.
Lamb had 38.15 points on Sunday and is averaging 36 points over the last three weeks. Lamb in now fourth among wide receivers in fantasy.
He trails only Tyreek Hill, A.J. Brown – both on bye this week – and Stefon Diggs.
Gallup continues to be a non-factor in fantasy football. His 3.25-point effort on Sunday gives him 14 total points over the last four weeks.
Jalen Tolbert more than doubled his season total with 13.5 points last week. Turpin had 13.25 for his second-straight double-digit week.
After back-to-back double-digit efforts, Brandin Cooks disappeared in Week 9 with just 1.25 points.
Jake Ferguson had his best week of the year with a 20.75 point effort. Ferguson is 12th for the season among tight ends.
Brandon Aubrey added seven points to the offensive scoring. Aubrey is sixth in scoring among NFL kickers.
He should move up after this week with Dallas facing the Giants and two kickers on bye ahead of him.
Defense
For leagues that score kick and punt returns, Turpin brought added value to his offensive efforts.
The Cowboys’ defense overall managed only an 11.3-point total. Had they recovered any of the three fumbles they forced that number would have been higher.
Dallas’ defense in now second in fantasy scoring behind the Ravens by 10 points. Baltimore still has an upcoming bye week.
Micah Parsons topped the defensive effort with nine tackles and 1.5 sacks.
Linebacker Damone Clark added 11 tackles while fellow linebacker Markguese Bell added eight.
Rookie Tops The League
Houston Texans’ quarterback C.J. Stroud had an incredible game against Tampa Bay.
His efforts netted him 63 points and the top-scoring fantasy football player honors of the week.
And it wasn’t even close. The Cleveland Browns defense was second at 41.8 and the Chargers third at 41.4.
Prescott’s 40.15 was fourth-best in PPR leagues for the week.
Court Adjourned
By now most leagues have suspended trading to avoid collusion, tanking, and other issues. The judge is heading for his winter cabin.
My FFL
After last week’s double-header debacle that fueled an 0-5 week, my teams rebounded like champs.
All three won easily and the one team with any playoff hopes is right back in the thick of things.
Its still on pace to be an overall losing season. But at least it won’t be my worst ever.
May your drive for the playoffs be successful.
