Jerry Jones fined 250K for flipping the bird at MetLife Stadium

A man in a light blue blazer, reminiscent of Jerry Jones' favored style, gazes ahead with a neutral expression, embodying the stoic demeanor of a seasoned Cowboys head coach.

The Cowboys took care of the New York Jets last week at MetLife stadium, but in doing so, Jerry Jones found himself in a spot that he probably thought he would get away with.

The NFL has fined Dallas Cowboys owner $250,000 for what he claims was an “inadvertent” obscene gesture towards fans at the New York Jets’ MetLife Stadium on Sunday.

Viral clips captured Jones appearing to flash his middle finger at Jets fans during the Cowboys’ 37-22 win.

Jones claimed he was actually trying to give Cowboys fans in the stadium the thumbs up as his team rolled towards victory late in the fourth quarter.

He has until Friday to appeal the decision and, though neither the Cowboys nor Jones have yet formally done so, but according to Tom Pelissero it sounds like he will, but take a look at the video below, there is nothing that he can appeal against.

He will lose this in a heartbeat.

Save It Jerry

Not like this would have any impact on the 16 billion bankroll that he has, but of course, when asked about it, Jerry had to do something to try and cover it up, but all you need to do is watch the video.

“That was unfortunate. There was a swarm of Cowboys fans out front. It was right after we made our last touchdown. I put up the wrong show of hand. The intention was thumbs up.”

“I just put up the wrong show on the hand, “Jones said. “I’m not kidding.”

“It got straightened out pretty quick, but the intention was ‘thumbs up,’ and basically pointing at our fans because everybody was jumping up and down excited.”

Not that this is the biggest story by any means, it just funny that we sometimes really see who Jerry Jones is.

Take a look at the video above, you will see he was not trying to put his thumb up at all, he was flat out flipping the bird to those Jets fans. He, being Jerry, of course, thought he wouldn’t get in trouble, but remember, he has a camera on his all the time.

The Cowboys will take on the Panthers this week, which should be another win and improve them to 3-2-1, but anything can happen in the NFL, they follow that up with the Commanders and the Broncos, but one thing is for sure, I don’t think Jerry Jones will be flipping anyone off again anytime soon.

The Cowboys maybe on a temporary high at the moment, but I wouldn’t look ahead just yet for the Redskins matchup. Carolina will give the Cowboys all that they can handle and then some as long as Rico Dowdle has a say in the outcome. The defense up front and it’s line backing crew better be on their toes against Dowdle who has a bitter grudge against his former teammates. I would like to see James and Liufau start at LB who are very fast and aggressive to stop Dowdle and also help in the secondary. The MLB situation is untenable with Sanborn and Murray manning it, but there is nothing more to resolve that problem. Prescott has to continue to dial it up once more for the Cowboys to pull this one out.

Not excusing what he did, and he should have just fessed up, but Jets fans were most likely giving him the finger also. Either way, no great shakes.

Just be a man and admit what you did.
