According to the mothership, the Dallas Cowboys have officially assigned their 2019 rookie draft class jersey numbers. There’s not as much fanfare or excitement surrounding this year’s draft class as their has been in previous years, but if you’re wanting a Trysten Hill or Connor McGovern jersey, you now know what number they should be wearing for the foreseeable future.
Here’s the jersey numbers assigned to the Cowboys 2019 rookie draft class:
PLAYER | JERSEY # |
---|---|
Trysten Hill | 79 |
Connor McGovern | 66 |
Tony Pollard | 36 |
Michael Jackson | 33 |
Joe Jackson | 56 |
Donovan Wilson | 37 |
Mike Weber | 40 |
Jalen Jelks | 74 |
I don’t know about you, but the #79 jersey assigned to rookie Defensive Tackle Trysten Hill caught my attention right off. That number will forever haunt my dreams because of the reoccurring nightmares I have of Chaz Green donning that jersey most recently. Let’s just hope that it hasn’t been forever tainted and Trysten Hill finds much more success with the #79 across the front and back of his jersey.
The only other thing that really stood out to me was the decision of the Dallas Cowboys to give Defensive End Joe Jackson #56. That’s a number the Cowboys typically give to their linebackers, not defensive ends. We probably shouldn’t read too much into it though. I just thought it was curious. Other than that, there wasn’t anything that really stuck out to me.
So, if you’re really anxious to purchase one of this year’s rookie jerseys you know which numbers they will be wearing. But, it might be wise to wait a bit until things are “officially” official. Otherwise, you may end up with a #33 Chidobe Awuzie, instead of the #24 he wears now.
