Despite the ineptitude of the teams, the race for the is certainly full of drama this season. And the NFL is looking to capitalize on that.

The NFL announced that they will be flexing the Washington/Carolina game from a Noon kickoff to a 3:05 PM central time start. This aligns their kickoff with the Cowboys and Eagles game, which begins at 3:25 PM central.

Of course, a Washington victory would all but wrap up the NFC East, and would eliminate the Cowboys from playoff contention before that late afternoon game even started. Because of this flex, the NFL now has concurrent games with incredible implications on the NFL playoff race.

In order to sneak into the postseason as the division champ, the Cowboys will need to win their final two games over the Eagles and Giants, and Washington will need to lose to Carolina and Philadelphia.

It's not impossible, but it is certainly improbable.

Either way, that late afternoon slate just got a whole lot more interesting for Cowboys Nation, and the NFC East as a whole.
