Primetime NFL games in 2019 have been disappointing thus far, but you know NBC has to be thrilled to see the match-up they have on tap this Sunday Night.

The 3-0 Cowboys travel to New Orleans to take on the 2-1 Saints this week, as two teams who figure to be competing for the NFC crown in January square off on Sunday Night Football.

Let's get into this line and see where you should lay your money on Sunday night.

The Line

Cowboys -2.5. O/U 46.5 points.

Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys are off to their best start as a team in quite sometime, and are looking to remain unbeaten through the first four weeks of the season. But while their opening three games were each against some of the NFL's worst, this week's match-up is quite the opposite.

Dallas will be playing in as hostile an environment as the NFL has to offer, and even with Drew Brees out, the Saints still pose a huge threat to the Cowboys' early win streak.

On the bright side, is leading one of (if not the best) offenses in all of football into the Superdome on Sunday night. He's poised, confident, and absolutely balling out so far this season. It's hard to imagine that not continuing this week, no matter the opponent.

New Orleans Saints

The Saints saw their 2019 season flash before their eyes during their week two defeat at the hands of the . Losing starting and future Hall of Famer Drew Brees for multiple weeks would be a death sentence for most Saints teams of the past, but this bunch appears to be different.

Backup quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is filling in, and played relatively well on the road against Seattle in a victory a week ago. It was Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara, the dynamic weapons which are two of the best at their respective positions, which really carried this offense, however.

Defensively the Saints are a talented unit, though their secondary has been shaky this season. Both the Rams and the Texans were able to put up points on New Orleans during the first two weeks of this season, so the Cowboys have to be feeling confident heading into this game.

Trends

  • The Cowboys are 9-3-1 their last 13 games against the spread.
  • The Cowboys are 1-7 against the spread their last 8 games at New Orleans.
  • The Cowboys are 8-2 outright their last 10 games as a road favorite.
  • The Saints are 1-7 against the spread their last 8 games.
  • The total has gone under during 8 of the Saints' last 12 games.

Prediction

The Cowboys have to lose at some point, but I don't believe this is the week it happens. Dallas is playing some high level football right now, and even when dealing with the wild crowd in New Orleans this weekend, I still expect their offensive success to continue.

Give me the Cowboys -2.5 on the road this week, as they improve to 4-0 on the year.
