The Cowboys seemingly become more embarrassing in each loss

I have been a Dallas Cowboys since I could walk, and you, just like me over the last 30 years, have seen a lot more bad than good, and yet when you don’t think things can get more embarrassing, they do.

Every bad loss over the years I have seen this team endure, I say to myself, ‘no way it can get worse than this!’ Yet, they find a way every single time.

The loss yesterday to the Arizona Cardinals was just another typically Dallas Cowboys revolving door, and at some point you would think that you would become numb to it, and maybe you have by now, but I haven’t.

A lot of you saw the Cowboys win Super Bowls with Jerry Jones as the owner. I have seen three playoff wins, and three head coaches that he hired to make sure that he could be so involved and talk to the media less than 15 minutes after each game ends. The issue starts at the top with Jerry, and he knows it, but won’t ever allow himself to give up what he built and that is the issue.

The Cowboys have allowed 20+ points in 15 straight games, the longest active streak in the NFL.

The last team with a longer streak (21) was the 2019-2021 Jaguars.

The Jaguars ended up with the #1 overall pick in the 2021 and 2022 NFL Drafts.

Brian Schottenheimer

Dallas led by 14 points twice, including 24-10 with 14:20 left to play, yet still lost. Sunday marked the first loss in Cowboys history when Dallas led by 14 or more points in the fourth quarter.

Previously, the Cowboys were 202-0-1 at home when leading by 14 or more points in the fourth quarter, including the playoffs. As I noted above, every single time you think it can’t get more embarrassing, the Dallas Cowboys find a way!

Dallas’ five games with 30-plus points are tied for the most in the NFL with the Buffalo Bills (6-1), but the Cowboys joined the Houston Texans (2-5) as the only two teams with multiple losses when scoring 30 or more points in 2026. The Cowboys’ defense has now allowed 20-or-more points in 15 consecutive games, which is the longest active streak in the entire league. (via CBS Sports).

George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb were on the field for I believe just 35 snaps together against the Cardinals

That 48.6% amount is the first time they’ve been under 50% (excluding games in which one or both didn’t finish)

Mind-numbingly stupid from Brian Schottenheimer

Schotty has been a coach in this league since 1997.

He interviewed for a head coaching job ONCE in his life before Jerry Jones passed on Ben Johnson and Liam Coen because he knew he could pay significantly less to make Schottenheimer the head coach of the Cowboys and the other two guys would not allow Jerry to call the shots that a head coach should be making every week.

Jerry Jones has only fired one head coach in the middle of the season and that was Wade Phillips after starting the season 1-7 in 2010.

The Cowboys managed just one win streak through 25 games of Brian Schottenheimer’s tenure as head coach, with two elite wide receivers, a 1000-yard rusher and an above-average quarterback in Dak Prescott who changes the play nearly 90% of the time at the line of scrimmage because his head coach and play caller has no idea what he is doing.

It starts with Jerry Jones continuing to hire a dollar store coaching staff, starting with a head coach who is so in over his head, he gets out coached every single week.

I can live with a loss to the Ravens, Green Bay and the Giants in week one, but not beating the Bucs or Arizona yesterday at home would get a lot of coaches fired, yet here we are, Jerry sticking to his horrible hire because he doesn’t want to look like an idiot.

He is directly responsible for this team’s misgivings against Arizona this season, and across his entire tenure, this team will go nowhere with him.

The bad thing is, I have not even talked about the Dallas defense, yet they proceeded to give up four straight touchdown drives to the end of the game, including letting a backup go 80 yards with one timeout and only 50 seconds left to send the game to overtime if not for a missed PAT. I will save that for another day.

The point of this is exactly what the title says: Jerry Jones is becoming more embarrassing each and every time this team loses a game, and it is because he is trusting guys that are put in place that nobody else wants to hire, he is way too loyal, won’t make a change when a change is needed and all he cares about is talking to the media.

He has made this franchise a laughingstock and more dysfunctional than the New York Jets. It is embarrassing and, unfortunately, nothing will ever change until he sucks up his pride and just gets out of the dang way!
