The Dallas Cowboys had 10 days off to prepare for the Green Bay Packers, and once again, it looked like they did absolutely nothing to get ready to play this game.
This team is full of flaws everywhere, and it showed on the first offensive and defensive possessions of the game. They are an uncomplimentary football team, and it starts with the head coach.
Not only did the Cowboys offense only pick up one first down on the first drive of the game, the game plan was to throw two passes on 2nd and 3rd down behind the line of scrimmage, from that, I knew it would once again be a long night for Schotty and the offense for the second week in a row.
Jordan Love proceeded to rack up over 100 passing yards on the first drive of the game that ended in a touchdown, and that is the most yards in one drive due to penalties and other things in 5 years.
And it’s his fatal flaw.
The Packers started 7-for-7 on third down before they got their first stop, and after the first interception by the Cowboys’ defense of the year.
Dak Prescott proceeded to give it right back because, after he took a massive hit on the play before, the head coach did not call a time-out to figure out what was going on, once again, a horrible decision by both the head coach and the quarterback.
A 10-0 lead felt like game over for Dallas, and it clearly was.
The Cowboys had a pick-6 taken off and CeeDee Lamb fell down, leading to an interception. It could be 14-10 Dallas, but it was 17-0 Green Bay at the half. Why? Because it is the Cowboys.
This team cannot get out of their own way, and we see it every single week. The offense stinks, the defense stinks, the head coach stinks and the list goes on and on.
An ill-timed Ceedee Lamb slip sees the Packers get their 2nd INT of the first half!
2nd Half
It felt like the game was truly on the line when the offense got the ball back down 20-7, and after CeeDee Lamb picked up a first down, Schotty proceeded to call a run for 3 yards and ANOTHER screen pass three yards behind the line??
The head coach and play caller could not figure out a way to beat the blitz. If a slant route to Lamb or Pickens doesn’t work, he has nothing else in his bag.
Schotty gets shelled by other play callers and has looked like a deer in the headlights the last two games, going against two very good defensive coordinators, and sure the quarterback should elevate, but when you run the same 10 plays, not much else you can do.
We just saw the Rams lose to the Cardinals with the MVP of last year, coaching matters.
A sprint left option on 4th down when you have been killed by a blitz is such a boneheaded typical play call by Brian.
Like everything this offense runs is predictable, every single thing that they do I saw the week before, and if I can see it coming, you don’t think the best minds in football who study film all week don’t?
I picked the Packers to win this game, but I see no changes being made from week to week.
such an uncomplementary team.
Credit to the defense for making a couple of stops to give them a chance for once, but I think it may be time for Schotty to give up his play-calling duties, and if you don’t see that, then I don’t know what to tell you.
The Packers clearly had a game plan that caused the offense issues, and we saw the same thing over and over again from Dallas. They didn’t make any adjustments, I just don’t know what else to say about it.
The offense looks completely lost the last two games, and a common theme was the defense that was run the last two weeks by Todd Bowles & Jonathan Gannon.
When is enough, enough?
