During this offseason, the Dallas Cowboys have been quiet about their quarterback position.
The future of Quarterback Dak Prescott is a bit unclear right now. While many fans would like him to leave, other fans would enjoy it if he stayed.
With that said, it’s still never up to the fans, is it? The future of Prescott is being held in the hands of Owner Jerry Jones and Head Coach Mike McCarthy.
I, and many other fans, have discovered that the likelihood of Prescott getting traded or cut is very low. Especially after his award ceremony at the Super Bowl this year, where he received the Walter Payton Award.

A huge congratulations to him for this amazing achievement.
Moving on, let’s just dive into the possibility of the Cowboys’ decision to replace Dak Prescott in the quarterback position.
Who would be the new quarterback? Will they be better, or worse than Prescott? Let’s check out what other quarterbacks are on the market right now.
Derek Carr:
Is it Quarterback Derek Carr’s fault? I am not sure, but all I know is that Carr is looking for a team to run too quickly. Carr isn’t as elite as Prescott is and he just wouldn’t get the job done in Dallas.
Aaron Rodgers:
Ugh… Him.
Yes, Aaron Rodgers is looking for a new team. Rumor has it that he is eyeballing the Las Vegas Raiders but nothing is set in stone just yet.
I and many fans would despise having Rodgers on our team, but the possibility is still there.
It wouldn’t be a wise choice to hire him anyway. Retirement is knocking on his door after every practice and I would be surprised if he lasted more than one more year.
Max Duggan:
Here is a switch-up.
Quarterback Max Duggan is entering this year’s draft after an amazing season with TCU.
While most people wouldn’t think Duggan has a chance to be a part of the Dallas Cowboys, Jerry Jones said otherwise.

Duggan seems to play with a lot of heart and loyalty. He is a great quarterback but just needs some more time to develop.
Seeing this young quarterback with a star on his helmet would be strange, but would be a great draft pick for the Cowboys, with or without Prescott on the team.
Overall, Prescott isn’t going anywhere (most likely) and his career will continue with another year in Dallas. Out of these three quarterbacks, I would love to see Max Duggan join the team. He has a lot of talent and would practically die for your team.
It seems that there aren’t a lot of other quarterbacks available, so the Cowboys will have to act fast on if they want a new quarterback or not. No matter what, the future is bright for the Cowboys and I can’t wait to see the team’s performance next year.
Hello Tony! I wouldn’t mind having Carr or Rodgers in Dallas. Not sure if McCarthy and Rodgers would be able to coexist. Both are clearly better passers than Prescott and would give Dallas a better opportunity to get to the BIG GAME. Drafting Max Duggan would be a good move in my estimation. He played his college ball in Texas, so fans would be more supportive of him because of the familiarity. That said, I’m not sold on the Jones Family being 100% behind Dak Prescott. I think this past season hurt his standing and credibility more than most people may think. Wouldn’t surprise me one bit if he’s out of Dallas prior to the upcoming training camp. Let’s keep an eye on this one!!!
I agree, however, both Carr and Rodgers get on my nerves a lot HAHA. But Max Duggan is a wonderful pick and I really hope we can snatch him in this year’s draft.
The people who blame Dak just don’t do their homework.
Because Moore could never develop a functional running game last season, the Boys were in 3rd and 7 or more 43% of 3rd downs last season. Dak still had the Boys in the top for 3rd down success even though he was passing in the worst circumstances. He threw near the most into small windows and deep passes as his receivers could not separate and, as noted , almost half of 3rd downs were long yardage. His INT percentage went from career stable low in the league to middle but was actually close to Rogers, Allen , Brady .
REALLY, NOT FUNCTIONAL?
Actually, they had the 8th MOST RUSH YARDS in the league (top 25%) and SECOND in rush TDs.
I remember hearing that “separation” problem before. Oh yeah, All-Pro great WR Dez Bryant also could NOT separate enough for QB1 either, so they cut him. I guess this excuse never ends.
Plus, QB1 had those LEAGUE LEADING INTs playing in only 12 regular season games. And BTW does QB2 (4-1) have some input to that 3rd down “success” equation? And does the QB play some part in that 3 & 7, 43% stat, or did they RUN EXCLUSIVELY on 1st and 2nd downs?
Move forward and draft a QB and at least start some REAL competition/grooming OR continue getting these very inconsistent (usually in big/important games) results similar to the last seven years.
Dez wasn’t cut cause he couldn’t get enough separation “for QB1” he was cut cause he couldn’t get enough separation “period”!! And QB1 was tied for the most interceptions in the NFL this year, but at least half of them, if not more were because the receivers couldn’t hold on to the ball!! There were more interceptions than I can remember that bounced off the chest of the receivers, or in and out of the hands of the receivers or just right through the hands of the receivers!! So stop trying to put all the blame on Dak…. Just cause you don’t like him, doesn’t mean you have to ignore a lot of the FACTS!! And to answer your question about running the ball…. If I had to guess, Kellen would call a run play on at least 90% of the first 2 downs of each possession and after each first down was gained, it was followed by more runs!! So yes, I would say they pretty much ran exclusively on 1st and 2nd down!! And something else I wanna add is…. It’s funny how you and a few other people think that Dak is inconsistent and inaccurate, or whatever else you say, but when it comes to the PROFESSIONALS, such as players and coaches, they all say Dak is one of the best QBs in the NFL right now!! Mike Mccarthy came to Dallas cause he wanted to work with Dak, Sean Payton says he would love to work with Dak and that’s just 2 of several that has said that!! And then there’s coaches that lost to us and say that it’s hard to beat us when we have a QB as talented as Dak is…. I’ve heard that from several coaches too!! And then there’s the players and coaches who say how good and accurate Dak is with his throws, including his deep passes!! And there are several other good things said about Dak from a lot of other coaches and players!! But then you and a few others seem to think he’s the exact opposite…. You can obviously have your own opinion, but I personally will go with what I see and what the PROFESSIONALS are saying and go with Dak is a talented QB and is good enough to be QB1 for us!! And I’m sure they’re are 32 other owners that would agree especially if those owners don’t have their own franchise QB!! If all 32 teams were looking for a QB, they all would jumping at the chance to get him!! One last thing before I go…. QB2 isn’t as good as apparently you think!! The defense won those games for us…. Cooper Rush couldn’t get more than 25 points in a game…. And that only happened once, all the other games was less than that!! That’s why we were at the bottom of the NFL in scoring offense while he was playing!! If it wasn’t for our defense keeping teams under 20 points in those games, we would’ve lost a lot more than just 1 of them…. If not all of them!! And that same defense seemed to disappear when Dak got back, but luckily Dak was good enough to take us from bottom of the NFL in scoring offense, to the 3rd best in just the last 11 games of the season!! I’ve never seen a bad QB do that with any team, it takes talent to get a team that high in scoring offense in just 11 games!!
I agree with you about Kellen Moore being at the heart of what was wrong with the Cowboys offense. True they were in 3rd and long constantly because of Moore’s idiot play calling. 1st down was usually Elliott up the middle for a yard or two. 2ns down was a trick play that never seemed to fool anybody. Then it would be 3rd and long and Prescott being pressured an often making bad throws to the recievers. McCarthy was exactly right in wanting Moore’s ass gone. I still however, think Prescott’s future in Dallas is at best uncertain.
Cowboy fan is spot on. Once again an early exit in the playoffs and we scream coaches fault, Dak’s fault, Romo’s fault, Aikman’s fault. Y’all catching on here? The one constant is JJ. Who really wants to win but just can’t get out of his own way. All these wasted careers and y’all still can’t see it. Wake up and demand JJ to get out of the way. It’s been 27 years!!
