For the second time in just three weeks, Dallas Cowboys receiver Amari Cooper has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week.
Cooper scored three touchdowns, including the game winner in overtime, to lead the Cowboys to victory last Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. He has 10 catches for 217 yards, which led all NFL receivers last week.
After his record-setting performance during week 14, @AmariCooper9 is the FIRST #DallasCowboys to win NFC Player of the Week twice in a season!

As the official website stated, Cooper is the first Cowboy to win the award twice in the same year. He’s also the first Cowboy to be named Offensive Player of the Week since Ezekiel Elliott in 2016.
Before this year, Elliott was the only Dallas player to win the Offensive award in three seasons. Cooper has now done it twice in three weeks.
Since being traded to the Cowboys, Amari Cooper has amassed 40 catches for 642 yards and six touchdowns.
His wasted time in Oakland may keep Cooper out of the Pro Bowl this year, but he’s already become a fan favorite in Cowboys Nation. Congratulations to Amari for another well-deserved award!
Hard to believe that Amari is the first Cowboy to win that award twice in the same season with players like Staubach, Dorsett, Emmitt Smith, Aikman, Michael Irving, Zeke and Dak (in his rookie season) preceding him. On another note, I don’t think anyone can bitch about giving up a 1st Round pick for Cooper after the show he has put on in the last 5 or 6 games. Some of the routes and catches he’s made have been absolutely amazing. I too would have liked to have gotten him cheaper but then again we don’t know what other teams were offering Oakland at the time and it’s obvious that we desperately needed him. Dak has me extremely worried though. I know our OL is struggling but he had quite a few clean pockets where he just threw terrible passes. I hope he can improve that or we get lucky and pick up another really good QB either in the Draft or in FA (unlikely but not impossible). We will also need to look at trying to get some very good Offensive Linemen to fill in for guys like Tyron (who is either hurt or his game has fallen off tremendously) and Martin (whose been playing hurt and I hope can heal up enough to wear a brace so he’s at like 80-90% for the rest of the season). Even with our DLaw & Order Defense playing so well, we HAVE TO HAVE a decent OL or we’re dead in the water. Don’t get me wrong, I still believe in our Boys. Hopefully we can get somewhat healthy and keep winning.
Yeah, where are all the detractors that talked about his drop rate! He’s route running and hands have def been worth the 1st round pick we gave up. I hope we sign him long term this off season.
