If you did not watch the Thursday Night Football game last night, then you missed an all-time defensive performance from the Houston Texans. I mean wow.

In a game that was started by Davis Mills, nobody thought the Houston Texans would have a chance in this game. They have now won three in a row with Mills under center and all of a sudden are back in the AFC playoff race mainly because of that defense, holy cow.

In Case You Missed It

The Texans have a top defense this season. Houston entered Thursday with the No. 1 ranked unit in the NFL, allowing only 258.1 yards per game.

Their defensive line is a force and Buffalo’s offensive line was not up to the task by any means. Texans pass rushers Danielle Hunter and Will Anderson have entered the conversation as the best rushers in all of football.

That duo is just insane. They combined for 4.5 sacks, giving Hunter 11 on the year and Anderson 10.5. Anderson is a legitimate Defensive Player of the Year contender.

This clearly shows that if you have a average guy behind center that maybe you can win big games with just a great defense, which is why Dallas should use their two first round picks on that side of the ball now that they have Williams and Clark holding down the middle.

It was the first time since 2023 that Allen was sacked five times or more. In total, the Texans had eight sacks, the most times Allen has ever been taken down in a game.

The week after Allen had seven total touchdowns, everyone thought he should move up that MVP ballot and maybe the Bills were the team now to beat in the AFC.

Yet, here we are clearing seeing that this league is a week-to-week league and, man, it would be so nice to see this type of defense in Dallas with the Cowboys paired with this offense.

It was just awesome to watch a team win with their defense even on the last drive of the game with the hook and ladder that the Bills pulled off on 4th and forever and the Texans’ defense still stepped up and won the game.

Let’s see how the other defense in Texas looks this weekend against an Eagles team who is winning with their defense. The Cowboys need to take whatever pill the Texans did and bring some of that on Sunday afternoon.
