Cowboys Draft: 2025 class has a lot of talent at this position for Dallas

Welcome to the 2025 offseason where the Dallas Cowboys don’t even know who their head coach or offensive coordinator is, but all we can do is look ahead to the next meaningful event for this football team, the NFL draft.

A lot of us have our own thoughts about who would be right for this team to draft, and so on, but one position that we all know this football team will need to address in April is adding another guy next to CeeDee Lamb to take some pressure off him.

Jalen Tolbert had an okay year, but did not take the jump that we probably would have liked to see him make. Brandin Cooks is set to be a free agent, and honestly, knowing Jerry Jones, he probably won’t even try to get him back in the building.

WR Draft Depth

Looking at the NFL draft in April, the Dallas Cowboys will have some options either with their first round pick at no. 12, or in the later rounds.

The wide receiver class looks the same as any year; guys will be good solid players, and a handful of guys that you can take a chance on between the 2nd and 4th rounds and they could still turn out to be a good player down the road.

The first guy that jumps off the screen that I don’t think Dallas is going to be able to grab is Tetairoa McMillan from Arizona. Unless they trade up, he is going to be off the board.

He is currently 3rd on the big board rankings.

Luther Burden III

If Dallas decides to take a wide receiver in the first round, and pass on Ashton Jeanty, this is who I think they would take.

Luther Burden’s numbers dropped a bit in 2025, but that was because Missouri’s passing attack overall took a dive due to some changes at quarterback.

Last season he produced 1,212 yards and nine touchdowns. He earned All-SEC first-team honors two years in a row.

According to Mel Kiper, who does this type of stuff for a living, says Burden has “valuable after-the-catch ability,” and “explosive traits.”

That would be just the type of guy they could throw in between Lamb and Tolbert to make the passing attack a bit better next season for Dallas.

Elic Ayomanor

This isn’t the flashiest pick, and many of you might not even know who he is, but if you watch college football heavily like many do, you will know him.

His combination of size, youth, production, play strength, and speed give him upside that’s worth betting on Day 2.

Early Round 3 feels like the best range for him, though if you hear his name called in round two, do not be shocked.

This is a guy that probably would be harder for Dallas to draft as he will probably need a year to develop, but with the Jones family, who knows?

He has a good speed and size combination, making it hard for defenders to bring him down after the catch. He had 63 catches for 861 yards and six touchdowns for Stanford last season.

Other Potential Picks

Pat Brtant from Illinois, Tai Felton from Maryland, and even a guy from Texas. the longhorns have two players that could either get over drafted or under drafted. isaiah bond and Matthew Golden.

Golden had better numbers, but from all the mock drafts I have seen, they have Bond going in most of the drafts before him.

Nonetheless, I could go on about all these guys, but until they get into the NFL, we don’t know how they will do.

I just hope the new head coach and offensive play caller will have the right to make a pick of their own for once.

Jerry Jones, year after year, shoots down my hopes of this team winning anything, and here we are yet again.
