The Dallas Cowboys have selected Kansas State running back Deuce Vaughn with the 212th pick in the NFL draft.
Standing at 5’5 Vaughn was tremendously productive at Kansas State. Over his final two years with the wildcats he had 2,962 rushing yards, 27 rushing touchdowns, and 846 receiving yards.
He was a 2-time 1st-team AP All-American, and can be a game changing type back. He can do just about everything well outside of pass blocking due to his size.
He fits perfectly into the current offense with Tony Pollard, they very well could be a nice one/two punch. They will just struggle a bit to pass block, but man this could be a fun backfield.
Take a look at the video below, he can change directions super quickly and has football speed.
His dad is also a college scout for the team, and was in the war room when Jerry Jones made the pick, but let’s be sure to note that they didn’t pick him for that reason.
Vaughn is a legit back, his size is the only thing that concerns me, other than that he was electric for the wildcats at Kansas State.
Still think they need to find someone to help the blocking aspect out of the backfield, but man this could be fun.
