The Dallas Cowboys have selected Kansas State running back Deuce Vaughn with the 212th pick in the NFL draft.
Standing at 5’5 Vaughn was tremendously productive at Kansas State. Over his final two years with the wildcats he had 2,962 rushing yards, 27 rushing touchdowns, and 846 receiving yards.
He was a 2-time 1st-team AP All-American, and can be a game changing type back. He can do just about everything well outside of pass blocking due to his size.
He fits perfectly into the current offense with Tony Pollard, they very well could be a nice one/two punch. They will just struggle a bit to pass block, but man this could be a fun backfield.
Take a look at the video below, he can change directions super quickly and has football speed.
His dad is also a college scout for the team, and was in the war room when Jerry Jones made the pick, but let’s be sure to note that they didn’t pick him for that reason.
Vaughn is a legit back, his size is the only thing that concerns me, other than that he was electric for the wildcats at Kansas State.
Still think they need to find someone to help the blocking aspect out of the backfield, but man this could be fun.

With the Cowboys’ second sixth-round pick, No. 212 overall, they are drafting Kansas State RB Deuce Vaughn. His father is Chris Vaughn, the Cowboys scout in the purple shirt at the bottom of the screen, with tears in his eyes in the draft room pic.twitter.com/PEVrpr8jEV

Turpin’s days are numbered
Shawn Lawther tf are you talking about
Ricky Rich Duece will be new punt returner
Shawn Lawther nah
Ricky Rich this guy led the country in all purpose yards! He’s dynamic with punt and kick returns
Shawn Lawther I can see him being switched in and out but Turpin is a pro bowl return man he ain’t going nowhere. This guy will be utilized behind or with Pollard
He good
Jon Donahue to small
Well other RB but still draft was one of wores drafts in history and wonder why can’t make Super Bowl wasting draft picks on back to back bust from Michigan
Christopher Summers do you know which team has drafted the most pro bowlers the last decade?
Christopher Summers wow we drafted help for the weak points in our defense and did pretty well! We ain’t gonna win a Super Bowl being an offensive team championships are won on the defensive side of the ball.
Christopher Summers did you forget TRYRON SMITH came out of Michigan? and i believe he is a all pro!! my point is, its not the college that’s the main factor, its the player’s work ethic and with deuce Vaughn, his dad works for the cowboys and if he did not think deuce was worth it , he would have so!!
Clone of Darren Sproles
Marcus Daniels he is to small he gonna get hurt this is NFL not college
Just wait to see him Ballin in nfl you would be surprised
Jesse Briones that same thing I said about Emmitt Smith came in League as small running backs
Marcus Daniels Emmitt was a little taller and stronger and he was awsome
Marcus Daniels sproles was an inch and a half taller & 20 pounds thicker . 5’5 170 Vaughn doesn’t strike fear in many NFL D’s
Marcus Daniels Reminds of Devin Hester just shorter. I’m excited to get him.
He is awesome
Drafting family instead of production and talent
John Claudio production!! Have you never watched him or looked at his stats? Led the nation in total yards. First team all American last 2 years. I was hoping we would take him. Could wind up better than Darren Sproyles.
Donnie Daniels I hope correct. My wife is taller than him
John Claudio I know but watch tape of him if you aren’t familiar. He has moves like Barry Sanders!
Donnie Daniels will do
Donnie Daniels dude had like 18 touchdowns in one season and 1500 yards
John Claudio My buddy weighs more than Parsons, too. That doesn’t mean anything either
Great pick for the late round
He be playing middle school
You Cowboy fans will bitch about the soap they use in the locker rooms. Grow up.
That’s good draft a qb for this yr and the future of the cowboys as you can see Prescott this yr and his career would he win a sb never a good qb just average so Jerry time eat the money you spent on him and get a real qb so maybe in ten yrs they might make it but not with Prescott as the qb lol
Jesse Salinas find something els to talk about.
Give him Zeke’s #
I loved this pick. Great player and great story.
Robert Peak its not nearly as funny as you taking the time troll this post…Philly the armpit of America and have the fans to prove it
Paul Amedeo thanks.
Deuce money
Agree Shane, this could be fun and I like that really good production. I like the pick.
He’s a good back
He’s literally another TP not Zeke replacement
He is a steal
Coley Earthman how are you doing
Wilson Joyce good
Coley Earthman where are you from
I hope deuce Vaughn, can play as well in Dallas as he did at kansas state, he reminds me of a better Cole beasley and that says a lot, i don’t think Cole was as fast , but a hell of a pass catcher!
Donnie Collins how are you doing
This is a good back. These picks addressed needs. We got what we needed.
Great pick I doubt he wears #22 though
Dewayne Styles how are you doing
Dewayne Styles doubt it either doubt any back wants to try and live up to emmitts legacy
a 5’5 RB…. what are yall thinking….. smh
Deuce is one of the backs that annoys the heck out of you when your team plays against him. He’s tiny, but he makes defensive players look silly play after play.
They do still need to bring in a thumper back for short yardage situations and to close out games. I’d love to see them bring in Abram Smith from the XFL for that role.
