The Dallas Cowboys don’t look themselves so far in Week 9. They’re trailing the Denver Broncos 16-0 at halftime, struggling particularly on offense and risking an ugly home loss.
The game opened with a 54-yard kickoff return by Tony Pollard but the offense failed to capitalize, losing possession on a failed 4th-and-1 rush attempt by Ezekiel Elliott. After the defense forced a punt, the offense was again stymied on 4th-and-2 when Dak Prescott missed Cedrick Wilson with a poor throw.
The Broncos offense then came to life, scoring two touchdowns and a field goal on three-straight possessions. QB Teddy Bridgewater has throw for 154 yards and a touchdown, a 44-yarder to WR Tim Patrick, while RBs Melvin Gordon and Javonte Williams have combined for 96 rushing yards already.
One bright spot on defense is LB Micah Parsons, who has 1.5 sacks and a few other big individual plays. DT Osa Odighizuwa has also stood out several times with backfield disruption.
Hopefully some offensive players step up in the seocnd half. Dak Prescott is only 5-of-12 for 75 passing yards. The offense is struggling with LT Tyron Smith out and Terence Steele playing in his spot, forcing Dak into several rushed decisions and off-balance throws.
The Broncos will receive the ball to start the 3rd Quarter. The score is still close enough for the Cowboys to come back, but their winning streak is being threatened like never before this season.
