The Cowboys have waived developmental Fullback Sewo Olonilua. The former TCU running back has been with Dallas for two seasons since going undrafted in 2020.
After some brief usage as a rookie, being activated for two games off the practice squad, Olonilua was back competing for a roster spot last year. A neck injury in the Hall of Fame Game ended his bid and proved to be season ending.

It was expected that Sewo would return to compete for the fullback job against veteran Ryan Nall and prospect Nick Ralston, or even the RB3 position with Rico Dowdle and other candidates. But for whatever reason, the Cowboys appear to be going another way.
It is quite possible that Nall, with much more experience and proven special teams value, is already being seen as the team’s fullback for 2022. He was signed in early April after four-year stint with the Chicago Bears.
