Welcome to week 6 of the NFL season and the good thing for the Dallas Cowboys is the NFC East is a mess this year.
Dallas currently sits at 2-3, but with the state of the division, this thing is going to be a train wreck until the end of the year, and it is hard to believe that this defense is worse than it was a year ago.
The Cowboys are in the same spot as a year ago, but nearly flawless on offense, or you have no chance. Dallas currently holds the longest active streak of 248 pass attempts since their last defensive interception and did I mention the Cowboys only have 4 sacks this season, good for second worst in football.
This week, Dallas is back on the road against a Green Bay team that they tied a year ago 40-40 in overtime and guess what, that is probably the only way they have a chacne again this year. Score 40 and pray the defense does something.

Expect Madness
This is exactly how I think this game is going to go. Last year, coming into this game, Dallas was projected to get boat raced, and lost by 100. They didn’t. This year, both teams have not been good outside of one week and for the Packers, it was last week against the Bears.
Look, let’s keep it real, this defense is not going to stop the Packers offense, even with Christian Parker moving to the booth and bringing in Mike Pettine to help out with that side of the ball.
The formula for Dallas should be stop scoring in 6–7 plays and do anything possible to get the run game going and have 12-13 play drives and use the clock and attempt to keep the defense off the field as much as possible, but that isn’t how they operate. They score at a high clip because they have CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens.
Yet, doing that is the only way I think they will win this game, unless we see something outside of left field from the defense, but nothing has given us a reason to believe that, and yet the Packers at home are only 3 point favorites. That is weird.
To me, it seems as if under Brian Schottenheimer they play better when they aren’t supposed to win or they are not expected to compete. Three games come to mind a year ago, the Packers, Eagles down 21-0 and against the Chiefs on Thanksgiving last year.
Either way, I don’t think the Packers despite last week are very good either but the Dallas defense is horrific.
EPA/pass play allowed 32nd
Pass success rate allowed 32nd
Yards/attempt allowed 30th
Completion pct allowed 30th
Pass Rating allowed 32nd
Passing TD allowed 28th
Interceptions 32nd
Opposing QB vs the Cowboys this season (would be rank among QB):
- 72.1 completion pct (1st)
- 10-0 pass TD-INT (1st)
- 120.5 passer rating (2nd)
Again, I think the play for this game is to take over in points because Dallas won’t stop Green Bay and the Cowboys offense, once again, will have to be perfect because the defense can’t stop a nosebleed, and it really is disappointing that we are talking about how bad they are again this year.
I am going to take the Packers to win this game, but again, I will be rooting for Dallas like always, because they win games they should lose and lose games they should win.
Less pressure, no expectations, I don’t know.
I think it will come down to Dallas being within a score or 10 points and the defense just not being able to get off the field as the time ticks away, ill take the Packers 38, Cowboys 30.
