The Cowboys made one of their bigger free agent splashes in quite some time this offseason, and did so via trade.
Dallas decided to bolster their pass rush by trading for former Miami Dolphins defensive end Robert Quinn. Quinn was forced to miss the first two games of the season due to suspension, but re-joined the team for their week three game against his former team on Sunday.
As fans hoped, Robert Quinn brought an instant jolt to the Cowboys’ pass rush, finishing his debut with a sack and multiple pressures on quarterback Josh Rosen. Quinn looked fresh, fast, and bendy off the edge for the Cowboys in their 31-6 victory.
And starting middle linebacker Jaylon Smith seemed to notice.
Smith took to Instagram to welcome Robert Quinn to the Cowboys defense, calling him an “OG HotBoy.”

Smith and this defense clearly already love having Quinn around, and the veteran pass rusher seems to have taken somewhat of a leadership role on the defense.
Though they’ve been somewhat up-and-down in terms of yardage allowed this season, this remains a super talented defense which can be a dynamic unit in 2019. Especially now that Robert Quinn is back in the fold, and ready to get after quarterbacks.
