NFLPA team report card reveals a lot about the Dallas Cowboys

The NFLPA recently released their annual report cards from the season, and the Cowboys cracked the top 10 in overall scoring.

The franchise ranks 10th overall in the league, yet two things on the card rank in the bottom five, two of which are pretty important when you are a professional football player.

If you didn’t know the NFLPA stands for the National Football League Players Association is the labor union representing National Football League players. I will give you some background because honestly, I only knew what it stood for, nothing more.

The union allows players to stand together to protect their health, rights, and families. It was formed in 1956. Players used their combined strength to force owners to provide basics like clean uniforms and safer equipment.

It represents all players in matters concerning wages, hours and working conditions and protects their rights as professional football players.

Makes sure that the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) are met Negotiates and monitors retirement and insurance benefits.

With all that said they drop a team report card after every season. A card that is a vote from all the players themselves.

Let’s Take A Look

You can see the full grades in the tweet above, but lets dive into these a bit.

The Dallas Cowboys training room and training staff ranked in the bottom five. Both of each got a flat C.

I can understand the voting when it comes to the training room as old players have spoken out about how people on tours can watch you workout there! As for the staff, that would sound an alarm if I was still with the Dallas Cowboys training staff and see I was only being voted as average.

Yet when it comes to treatment of families, the locker room, weight room and head coach got an A. Now keep in mind this was taken before Mike McCarthy was let go, so clearly the team liked big Mike as the guy.

For instance, when it came to willingness to invest in team facilities, the owners who ranked 28th to 32nd were Robert Kraft (Patriots), David Tepper (Panthers), Art Rooney II (Steelers), Michael Bidwill (Cardinals) and Woody Johnson (Jets).

Can We Do Fans Next?

If you look again at the report at the top, Jerry Jones got a B overall from all his players.

Do you really think the guys on the team are going to throw the owner under the bus after all the talk about him?

If this was taken by the fans, I can promise you that B would be an F, and he would be the worst-rated owner, maybe outside of Wood Johnson from the Jets.

This report in all reality does not mean anything and I find it hard to believe that Jerry Jones will care all that much.

He will not change anything about the training facility, he is making money from all the fans watching his players workout, so whatever.

As we look ahead to the 2025 season, things will remain the same, nothing will change and I am sure this report will come out again next season and be the same as this year.

With the news last week that the cap will increase to anywhere from $277.5 million to $281.5 million, the Jones family said the Cowboys will benefit from the added space. At some point, the Cowboys will restructure the contracts of Prescott and Lamb to open up $57 million in cap room.

That is about the only thing I am afraid we should be looking forward to, I don’t see them signing any free agents. I mean, heck, they have over 20 pending free agents themselves.
