What will be the biggest concerns in 2023 for the Cowboys? 1

It feels like just last week the NFL Playoffs were underway, and we were watching the Dallas Cowboys destroy Quarterback Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Now, we are nearing the next NFL Draft. Time has been flying lately, which means the Cowboys need to figure out what changes need to be made, and fast.

While quite a lot of changes have already been made to the Dallas Cowboys over the last two months, there are still questions and concerns that linger with the team.

Going into next season, what are the biggest concerns that the Cowboys staff should be worried about?

Defensive Stability:

For the last two seasons, the Cowboys have had one of the best defenses in the NFL, thanks to Defensive Coordinator Dan Quinn and many of our talented players.

Something that fans should be cautious of is the decline of our defense.

This defense can win a Super Bowl, so the Cowboys can’t afford to waste this special talent and phase. The mission to keep this skillful defense alive needs to start now, for the Cowboys must keep the defense stable and consistent for next season.

Quarterback Problems:

Time won’t be spent for a long period of time on this, as stated in other posts about all the vital improvements that Quarterback Dak Prescott needs to make before next season.

This isn’t about Prescott though, for the Dallas Cowboys need to make a solid decision on whether or not they will be sticking with Dak Prescott next season.

The Cowboys may be awaiting for the draft to see if there are any well-available quarterbacks still on the market, but the future is unclear at this time.

I am sure they have a plan in store, but as a fan, this is a very concerning issue.

Wide Receiver Shortage:

Last season the Dallas Cowboys were very short on wide receivers early on. It wasn’t until T. Y. Hilton came onto the team that we really started to get going with passes.

T.Y. Hilton playing against the Philadelphia Eagles.

While Wide Receiver CeeDee Lamb is a top-tier player in the league, the pressure can’t all be on him. You need multiple weapons on all sides of the field to make good progress on offense.

The best bet for this year’s NFL Draft is for the Cowboys to draft a wide receiver. Balance can be restored to the offense after the Amari Cooper trade that happened last year.

Touch-ups:

Overall, the team is great, but little touch-ups here and there can turn a great team, into a Super Bowl contender.

The first nitpick comes onto Head Coach Mike McCarthy’s shoulders.

The playcalling and major decisions last year were very inconsistent and never seemed to pay off in the important moments.

McCarthy will need to figure this out and accomplish the token of consistent decisions on both ends of the football field.

Another touch-up can be seen in confidence. The Cowboys always get frightened when in major games because people keep telling them that they are destined to lose.

Players, coaches, and fans need to get past this problem and look to the future.

Win bigger games, and get your heads out of this losing gutter curse.

The will be exactly the same as the last two years because they are not going to do anything to change the problem areas being scared in FA, and being cheap and afraid of a trade. Simple, Run it back the same and get the same results.

Hello Tony! You’re spot-on as usual with your analysis of this franchise. The BIGGEST PROBLEMS IN DALLAS are Jerry and Stephen Jones. Poor decisions and complacency seem to be these guys watch words. Football has changed tremendously sinc3 Jerry played at the University Of Arkansas. I’m not sure Stephen ever played anywhere. Yet these two are leading one of the marquee franchises in all professional sports. Allowing Amari Cooper to go without getting fair compensation, allowing Elliott to remain on the roster thus far, allowing Jason Garrett to hold the Head Coaching job for so long with ZERO RESULTS, allowing Kellen Moore to screw up the offense without consequences, and bringing Brett Maher back to Dallas a second time with similar results. These are just a few of the bone head decisions those two have made to the detriment of the Cowboys. Jerry Jones claims to want another Lombardi Trophy, but only if he believes he made the decisions to get it done. I’ve been told that the definition of Insanity is doing the same things over and over, expecting a different result. That’s Jerry and Stephen Jones 100%.
