Whelp, here it is, the final injury report of the 2024 season. This report has definitely gotten its work this year with all the Dallas Cowboys that have made their way onto the list.
As the Cowboys prepare for their final game of the season against the Washington Commanders tomorrow afternoon, this week’s report looks as clean as it can be, all things considered.
The Washington Commanders already punched their playoff ticket last weekend by taking down the Atlanta Falcons in overtime, but that doesn’t mean the season finale against the Dallas Cowboys will be meaningless.
You will see how both reports looks below.
Dallas Cowboys
Questionable:
- T Chuma Edoga (Toe)
- DT Mazi Smith (Pelvis)
- S Donovan Wilson (Knee)
Three starters are questionable for the Cowboys tomorrow, Mazi Smith just popped up this week dealing with a pelvis issue, but from what it sounds like, all three of these guys should be able to give it a go tomorrow, barring any setbacks during pregame warm-ups.
Out:
- CB Kemon Hall (Hamstring)
All things considered, we already know CeeDee Lamb and Trevon Diggs are out, Kemon Hall being the only guy on this list is a good thing.
I would have hated to see guys like Micah Parsons, Eric Kendricks and some other starters have to miss the last real football game they will play until this September.
This may be the final game for Kendricks as a Cowboy, but with the injury to Overshown that is going to sideline him for the entire 2025, I would not mind seeing him back on a one-year deal. He won’t be any worse than what they will have.
Washington Commanders
Questionable:
- RB Austin Ekeler (Concussion)
- WR K.J. Osborn (Illness)
- LS Tyler Ott (Personal)
Well a guy I was surprised to see is Austin Ekeler.
His 21-day practice window opened on Wednesday, and he’s been a full participant in practice all week. Dan Quinn said he had a fantastic week, and they would decide whether he returns this week, or they wait until the playoffs start to activate him.
As noted above, if he does play, Washington is trying to win this game and going into the playoffs on a roll. They have looked good as of late, but the Cowboys did beat them the first time, I guess when you own your little brother, somethings never change.
Out:
- LB Jordan Magee (Hamstring)
- CB Marshon Lattimore (Hamstring)
- S Tyler Owens (Safety)
Washington is going to be without one of their best defenders in Lattimore, and from what it sounds like, Trey Lance got a lot of work this week, and I bet he will play 90% of the snaps even if he does not start.
Cooper Rush, who also is scheduled to become a free agent in the offseason, has started every game since Dak Prescott’s season-ending hamstring injury. The Cowboys are 4-4 in Rush’s eight starts.
He has earned a $250,000 incentive by playing 45 percent of the snaps this season. If he reaches 55 percent, he earns another $250,000.
So, with that said, I am sure Jerry Jones will do what he always does, be cheap and not let Rush get his snap count, which would earn him that extra money.
Either way, this is the last injury report of the season, and they have really been hard to put together because of all the great players on this roster who have been hurt.
It will be weird not watching the Cowboys in the playoffs for the first time in a few years, but hopefully this season will wake Jones up a bit and make him get to work to actually make this team better this offseason.
