Cowboys might be seeing ghosts Sunday against Washington

Dan Quinn having early success in NFC East race 4

Crazy to think week 12 is already here, and watching Cowboys football is just not fun this season. Right when you think they can’t go below your exceptions, they do it every single week.

Now, as they get ready for the game on a short week, they have to figure out how to not even win a football game, maybe make it close into the fourth quarter.

They travel to Washington to play their former defensive coordinator, Dan Quinn, who has the Washington Commanders at 7-and-4.

Over/Under (O/U): 46.5 (O: -110 | U: -108)

Betting Facts

The Cowboys have won 5 of the past 6 meetings, but are just 5-3 O/U in the Mike McCarthy era (from 2020 onward).

That record is about to go way out the window, though. No Dak Prescott who has owned these guys, and Jayden Daniels is there now, and Cooper Rush is hot garbage.

Each of the last seven games between teams from the same division have gone under the total points line. The Cowboys’ last six games as road underdogs following a home loss have gone over the total points line.

Five of the Commanders’ last six games in November have gone over the total points line.

Dan Quinn

Dan Quinn has probably had this game circled since he took the head coaching job with Washington.

He and the Cowboys did not end on bad terms or anything, but for a guy who led a Cowboys defense to some historical numbers, the last few years is seeing what they are doing under Mike Zimmer.

He is going to have a field day with that offense against the Dallas Cowboys defense, who is giving up a league-worst 29.3 points per game. 31 over the last three games.

Not only is the defense bad, so is the offense, there is reason they set an NFL record for being down by 20 plus points for the most home games in a row.

Think about this; the Cowboys have played 5 home games this season at AT&T stadium, the Saints have played 1 game at AT&T stadium this season. Guess who has scored more touchdowns in that building?

Yup, the Saints have scored more touchdowns in AT&T stadium this year than the Cowboys have in 2024.

Train Wreck

Let’s call it like it is, this team is a train wreck, and nothing is going to change. Jerry has already said he will not make an moves on the coaching staff, they are sticking with Cooper Rush, no idea why.

You traded a 4th round pick for Trey Lance, and this is the perfect chance to see if he has anything for goodness, but Jerry won’t give up on a team that is 3-and-7. I honestly think this football team has a chance to have the first overall pick.

Mike McCarthy did want to play him late in the game against the Texans, but Jerry Jones wouldn’t allow it, he is a joke.

Thinking outside the box, this may be the best roster when all playing to have the no. 1 overall pick.

They have a quarterback in place, a star wide out, and a defensive player who could be the player of the year if they can figure the coaching out.

Dan Quinn is going to want to beat up this team, at least that is my guess. I see the Cowboys seeing ghosts early and often in this game.

The Cowboys fall to 3-and-8, Washington wins this one 29-13.

I bet the whole cowboy team runs over to greet Quinn like he is the long lost favorite uncle at thanksgiving. They miss this guy
