Dallas Cowboys Injury Report: What to Know Before Week 15 at Buffalo Bills

The Dallas Cowboys (10-3) travel to the Northeast to take on the Buffalo Bills (7-6) this Sunday.

Dallas has been relatively healthy aside from season-ending injuries to CB Trevon Diggs and LB Leighton Vander Esch.

This week, however, they will be without a key member of the defense that has vastly improved the run defense since his arrival.

Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys officially list 11 players on their final injury report for Week 15 at the Buffalo Bills.

Out

DT Johnathan Hankins (knee, ankle)

DT Johnathan Hankins’ injury is the biggest blow for Dallas on this list.

Hankins got rolled up on last week versus Philadelphia and is feeling discomfort in his knee and ankle.

Dallas could choose to place him on IR-Designated to Return, but he would be forced to sit for four weeks.

It appears the Cowboys feel he can return before then, so no action has been taken.

No Designation

LT Tyron Smith (rest), RB Rico Dowdle (ankle), RG Zack Martin (rest), LB Micah Parsons (illness)

Veteran rest days were provided for Tyron Smith and Zack Martin, and both will be ready to go on Sunday.

Rico Dowdle has been dealing with ankle discomfort for three weeks, and the Cowboys have been cautious with him in practice.

He will be ready for Sunday in a game where the running game will be leaned on heavily.

Micah Parsons fell ill on gameday last week and powered through, but is practiced in full starting on Thursday.

Questionable

S Malik Hooker (ankle), DE Viliami Fehoko (knee), T Matt Waletzko (shoulder), WR Brandin Cooks (illness), CB Stephon Gilmore (illness), WR Jalen Tolbert (illness)

S Malik Hooker also has some ankle discomfort but should be ready to play on the back end in his usual safety spot.

Rookie 4th round pick Viliami Fehoko has not seen the field this season.

He was placed on Injured Reserve-Designated to Return, and the Cowboys have now activated his 21-day window to return.

The same was done last week for second-year T Matt Waletzko, but it is not confirmed he is activated as of yet.

Rest days were provided for Brandin Cooks and Stephon Gilmore, but the flu is making the rounds at The Star and they wouldn’t have practiced anyway.

Second-year WR Jalen Tolbert is also afflicted with the same illness, and did not practice, but could be ready to go Sunday.

Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills officially list 10 players on their final injury report for Week 15 versus the Dallas Cowboys.

Out

DE AJ Epenesa (rib), S Micah Hyde (stinger)

Defensive standouts AJ Epenesa and Micah Hyde have not practiced all week due to their injuries.

Not having these two players on the field will be a huge blow for Buffalo.

No Designation

QB Josh Allen (shoulder), DE Leonard Floyd (wrist), CB Taron Johnson (ankle), TE Dalton Kincaid (thumb/shoulder), TE Dawson Knox (wrist), DE Von Miller (rest)

Bills fans might have had a heart attack seeing QB Josh Allen on the injury report, but he will be fine to start on Sunday.

CB Taron Johnson is dealing with a sore ankle but will fight through to play versus the dangerous Cowboys’ offense.

Defensive ends Leonard Floyd (wrist) and Von Miller (rest) will also be ready to play.

The tight end duo of Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox appear to be back on the field together for this Sunday.

Questionable

CB Kaiir Elam (ankle), WR Justin Shorter (hamstring)

CB Kaiir Elam was designated to return from IR, but we don’t know yet if Buffalo will activate him.

WR Justin Shorter was designated to return from IR and practiced in full all week.
