Full of 1st round picks, the Cowboys OL is an issue

The football game yesterday was about as bad as it gets, the defense was still a disaster, and the offense was not much better, and that is the problem.

The Dallas Cowboys are so bad on the defense, it is so bad that the offense has to play nearly flawless football every single week to give them a chance. I mean they let a backup throw over 300 bills in the first three quater, it was hard to watch once again.

Nonetheless, something that has been really bothering me as of late is the play of the offensive line.

The Cowboys have invested way too many picks in their OL for their unit to be this bad every single week.

They Look Awful

The pass protection coming from these guys is not good, the run blocking has been decent, but most of the time it is Javonte Williams making something happen.

Needless to say, Tyler Guyton is easily the worst offensive lineman on this team. Yes, he is worse than Terence Steele.

He is the reason for a negative play or two every single week, and it happened early in the game last night with his holding call that brought back a first down to CeeDee Lamb when the game was well within reach.

This team has a bye week next, and honestly Jerry Jones is still saying they are going to try and win, but I would just keep the dudes you got, flip some others, and keep running out of the worst defense in football, and see where the year takes you.

You clearly are not making the playoffs, and if Green Bay keeps struggling, you might get some decent value for that first round pick next year, so you could have a top 12 pick and an early late first round pick under your belt.

I am not sitting here saying I have the magic answer as to how to fix the OL issues, but man, they have not looked good at all over the last month. The offense, playing so well early and scoring all those points, was a bit of a blocker.

It just feels like the run blocking took one step forward with them and the pass pro took five steps back.

They nearly looked better a few weeks ago when they weren’t at 100%

Now that things are starting to hit the fan, you can see all the issues coming out, and unless both the defense and the offensive line start to play better, this team is in for a very long cold winter.

If you ask five different fans the position that needs attention first, you may get five different answers. If you are correct in saying Guyton is the worse O-lineman, that’s yet another FIRST-ROUND draft disappointment by the FO brain trust. For me the only spots that are in decent/good shape right now would be the WR, TE, maybe RB positions. K is locked down.

D-line, LB, CB, S, O-line, all need attention. QB1 is wildly inconsistent as shown by at least these last two games and then there is, of course, his horrid playoff record. He has to be the worst player investment wise on the team, a financial bust.

Very hard to see this team making the playoffs. Both sides of the ball are not playing well. I will say the defense came on toward the end of the Cards game, but the game was basically over b/c the offense was MIA.

This all boils down to the coaching staff. Everflus and Schottenheimer were very bad choices. And then, well there is Jerry !

All season, the Boys’ offense line has been at the bottom of pass blocking ratings. It is Dak avoiding the rush that made the offense. Do not overlook that Schotty is a bad coach and teams have seen his stuff and Schotty has nothing more in his bag. Eburflus is the worst defnse coach in the league and Schotty is under water as a head coach and limited as a offense coordinator.
