If the Cowboys Win in Week 6, Expect These 4 Things to Happen

It’s never a good idea to look ahead of your opponent, but there’s no harm in thinking about what may happen on a hypothetical “Victory Monday.” In short, a Cowboys win against the Panthers will produce a ripple effect across the NFC East.

On Thursday, we saw the Philadelphia Eagles go from clear-cut division favorite to officially stumbling in the early part of this season.

They’ve dropped two games in a row and have yet to win a game by more than one score. The Commanders, Cowboys, and Giants have all had their fair share of struggles, but nobody is out of the race.

So, if Dallas can pull off a second straight road win to move above .500, it could force the front office’s hand to be more aggressive in player personnel and spark new storylines for the 2025 campaign.

Here, we’ll look at that possibility a bit closer. These are five dominoes that may fall with a Cowboys win over Carolina in Week 6.

1. Hopping Back On The Trade Market

The NFL as a whole appears more aggressive in the trade market this season, and a victory in Charlotte this week may prompt Dallas to follow suit.

Between the rumors of a Maxx Crosby blockbuster and their overall need for roster improvement, it makes sense for the front office to start picking up the phone if wins keep rolling in. After all, they’ve got the draft capital to do it.

We could see linebackers like Devin Bush in Cleveland, or pass-rushers with a lower price tag than All-Pros like Crosby and Trey Henderickson.

Overall, this team, for all its flaws, still has the pieces to compete for the playoffs today. If Jerry Jones looks at Dak Prescott’s age and his own stockpile of draft picks, a move could be made very quickly.

2. Hunting For New External Free Agents

On a less exciting player acquisition note, a Cowboys win could make them dip back into the free agency pool before their Week 7 battle with the Commanders.

This would be a low-cost, effective way to bolster the weaknesses in the roster without giving up draft capital that can still be used closer to the deadline. If Dallas isn’t sure about going “all-in” quite yet, this is the perfect way forward.

There are a few notable names out there who could quickly become contributors for the Cowboys.

Not to mention, they’ve got more than enough money to pursue anybody who doesn’t have a team heading into the middle of the season.

3. Jaydon Blue’s Role Keeps On Growing

Moving to the on-field impacts of a win in North Carolina tomorrow, we have to talk about rookie running back Jaydon Blue.

The news came yesterday that Miles Sanders is now out for the season with injury, and that Blue is being elevated, likely for the remainder of the 2025 season, to the RB2 role.

The front office won’t stop singing his praises, and for good reason.

We haven’t seen it on the field yet, but his game-breaking speed and explosiveness bring an element to the Dallas running game that could unlock Javonte Williams even more.

If he performs well and the Cowboys win, expect Blue’s stock to keep on rising heading into Week 7 and beyond.

4. Dak Prescott’s MVP Case Gains Momentum

Lastly, we can’t forget about the guy who will likely be the reason the Cowboys win if they do.

Prescott, 32, is having an MVP-level start to the 2025 season, and everybody is starting to notice. If he walks into Bank of America Stadium and puts on his Superman cape once again, you can expect the award talks to continue.

Throughout this young season, he’s put the team, and especially the defense, on his back to keep them in contention.

The Panthers can only pray if that version of Dak Prescott shows up again this week.

Personally, I could not care less about this annual obsessive “MVP” talk connected with DP. Longtime Cowboy fans are accustomed to going deep in the playoffs and winning championships. I guess these younger fans/current sport MSM talking heads are more enraptured with this ever-growing number of NFL “awards”, and especially this “MVP” one.

The all-time best Cowboy QB, Roger Staubach, NEVER won a regular season MVP award, but in his 11-season career won 13 playoff games, (when they didn’t have so many wild card teams) including 2 Super Bowls (could have been 4 with any luck). Troy Aikman NEVER won a regular season MVP, but in his 12-season career won 11 playoff games, including 3 Super Bowls.

The Cowboys have the players needed to win now, they just need for them to be used properly.

No, they clearly do not have the players they need to win now.

Just because prescott has 3-400 yards a game doesn’t mean a thing. At buzzer the team with the most points wins. All the time
