NFC East proving why Cowboys have a clear coaching mismatch

If you did not watch football yesterday, once again, like I have said over and over again why coaching matters in this league, before the Dallas Cowboys play must win game tonight against the Eagles, the New York Giants found a way to win on the road yesterday to stay atop the NFC East.

As the Cowboys take on the Eagles this evening, a loss would all but end the hopes of somehow winning this division, because it would put them behind the Giants by three total losses, but what we are seeing is that coaching matters.

The Dallas Cowboys have a head coach mismatch when it comes to what John Harbaugh is doing with J. J McCarthy as his quarterback. They went on the road and beat the Houston Texans, who had won two games in a row, and everyone thought they would do the Cowboys a favor.

Well, that did not happen, and now the Cowboys find themselves once again needing to handle their own business tonight against a team that has no starting quarterback or their star wide receiver in DeVonta Smith.

John Harbaugh took over a last-place Giants team that had endured double-digit loss totals in eight of the past nine seasons.

Now they’re first in the NFC East and have matched their win total from last season.

Despite losing their starting QB, sack leader and leading tackler

So the Cowboys have moved up to five-point favorites, but the fact of the matter is, this team has no excuse to keep giving us the product that we are seeing every single week.

They do not look prepared, they have no communication on defense, the offense runs the same 12–15 plays every single week, and they just don’t look like a well-coached team and make any adjustments in the game and give themselves a chance to win, and I watched the entire Giants and Texans game, and yes, the Houston Texans defense killed them, and they had a lot of moments where they beat themselves, but the Giants are winning these games without their starting QB.

Coaching is important, and I said it when I started to see small issues happening with this team, the coaching staff they have is not good enough either, and the players need to show up, but it is crazy to me that people don’t think this is as important as it really is.

There is a real possibility that we see two or three new head coaches in this division next year. I don’t think Dan Quinn makes it through the end of the year, and Nick Sirianni will probably get a pass because of the injuries that he has to deal with, but what is the excuse for Brian Schottenheimer?

The fact of the matter is, he is just not an NFL head coach, and it continues to show every single week.

Over the last 4 seasons, when a QB throws the ball 50 or more times, the teams are 4-44, you just can’t do it.

Updated NFC East odds:

Cowboys: +155
Giants: +155
Commanders: +550
Eagles: +600

Dak Prescott is averaging a career-high 41 pass attempts per game and opponents are taking advantage with heavy blitzing that is too often succeeding, so, of course, the offense is struggling because history shows us that you can’t throw the ball that much and win.

How about we see the offense control the game tonight and get the ground game going?

We will see how it goes tonight, but I would not be shocked if the Cowboys lost this game, and if they do, the part that sucks is that we will hear the same garbage from both Schotty and Jerry Jones.
