The Dallas Cowboys have selected North Dakota OT Matt Waletzko with the 155th pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. He’s the second offensive lineman taken by Dallas after Tulsa’s Tyler Smith in the first round.
I like the idea of extra depth at tackle, especially since Smith will play guard in his first few seasons. He’s a developmental guy, but that’s not a huge issue given he’s a fifth-round pick. Weighing 312 pounds, Waletzko is very athletic for his size. He’s also got good length, which is exactly what you want in a tackle.

This is a great pick for the Cowboys. He’ll have time to develop behind Tyron Smith and Terence Steele where he can focus on improving his hand placement and balance. Waletzko has so much upside and the intangibles are there. He’s got the potential to be a quality starter if Dallas is patient with him. The Cowboys loves their swing tackles and Waletzko fits the billing.
