Where do the top Cowboys land in Fantasy Football rankings?

Things are heating up in the NFL world. Training camp is here, the preseason is on deck, and with that the Cowboys fantasy football rankings are starting to get some attention. It is almost time for fantasy drafts, after all.

It’s no surprise that Dallas has some of the top players in fantasy football. Despite this lackluster offseason, the roster is still top-heavy with explosive talent.

That has given the Cowboys an upper-hand over a ton of teams with these rankings.

Last season, Dallas placed third in the NFL for total team fantasy points. They also landed in the top two for quarterback and wide receiver points.

I think we can all guess how the latter stat happened, and lucky enough for fantasy football players, that duo is, of course, running it back this year.

Now if only they could get their contracts figured out.

The Cowboys fantasy football rankings are showing that duo, and another sneaky big-time player, some love. So let’s talk about it.

The Leader of the Board: CeeDee Lamb

Like I said, there are no surprises here. Superstar Wide Receiver CeeDee Lamb dominated the fantasy football world in 2023, and the rankings this time around show that.

Lamb, 25, is coming off a 1,749-yard season with 12 touchdowns. That is as elite as elite gets.

His expectations are now higher than ever, ranking only behind San Francisco 49ers star Christian McCaffery, and higher than every other wide receiver on virtually every fantasy football ranking.

In other words, step aside Justin Jefferson, Tyreek Hill, and Davante Adams.

As far as Cowboys fantasy football players go, Lamb is the best the team has had since prime DeMarco Murray in 2014, or early-career Ezekiel Elliott a few years ago. He absolutely dominates the stat sheet.

Additionally, both the Cowboys total wide receiver corps and running back room have weakened since last season.

Does that mean more attention to Lamb? Yes.

It also means, however, that Dallas is going to rely on him even more to push the ball downfield for points.

Expect another dominant season from this young superstar in your fantasy football leagues, and try to get him on your roster if you pick in the top three.

Prove It Year: Dak Prescott

Second in MVP voting in 2023, league leader in passing touchdowns and completions, an elite season by all measures, yet almost 10th in the quarterback rankings the next season?

That doesn’t sound quite right to me, but it’s what the top fantasy football websites have landed on.

ESPN and Fantasy Pros have Cowboys Quarterback Dak Prescott 8th and 9th respectively, behind names like Anthony Richardson and Kyler Murray.

The ranking begs a question: what more does Dak Prescott have to prove?

He was statistically the best quarterback in football last year, has three highly reliable receiving options, including Lamb, and will need to throw the ball a ton with such a weak running game behind him.

Whatever it is he has to prove, this is his year to do it. Aside from the fantasy football perceptives, doing so will garner him a ton of money if Dallas doesn’t extend him.

If you’re building your team and see Prescott available after guys like Richardson, Murray, and Brock Purdy have gone, I would take a shot at this reigning All-Pro.

Pairing him with Lamb could lead to a league-winning roster.

One Last Rodeo: Ezekiel Elliott

It has been three years since former All-Pro Ezekiel Elliott ran for 1,000 yards in a season. It has been even longer since his days as an elite fantasy football running back.

With a solid showing last year as a PPR-player and with an increased role back in Dallas, could Zeke have one more in him?

In 2023, Elliott had one of his strongest receiving seasons yet, hauling in 51 passes from a variety of Patriots quarterbacks. It seems like that, as well as goal-line running, could be his strong suit as he ventures into the sunset of his career.

That would work just fine for Dallas, and even better for Cowboys fantasy football fans. The offense needs somebody else who can catch a high volume of passes.

When you combine that need with his ability, and the chemistry he has with Prescott, you might have something cooking.

Elliott, in all likelihood, won’t be seeing another Pro Bowl nod or high-OPOY finish at this point, but he could be a much-needed reliable running back that puts up 60+ catches and has 10+ total touchdowns.

If you told the Cowboys offensive coaching staff, and fantasy football owners, that he would do that, I think you’d have a lot of interest.
