After a week of strategic free agent moves that added valuable talent to the roster, the were just dealt a major blow. Via his own twitter account, All-Pro Center Travis Frederick has announced his retirement from the NFL at only 29 years old.

Frederick was the 31st overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. He started all 96 games that he was eligible to play in. Over his brief six-year career Frederick built a reputation for being one of if not the best at his position. He made five Pro Bowls (2014-2017, 2019) and was selected to three All-Pro teams (2014-2016).

After a battle with Guillian-Barre Syndrome forced him to miss the entire Frederick returned to the field and played well this past year. However, according to Frederick himself, playing “well” wasn't good enough as he feels he can no longer perform at the level he and his teammates are accustomed to.

Therefore, the Cowboys anchor on the is calling it a career, on his terms, which we all have to respect. More details to come.
