After the first two quarters of play, the Cowboys lead the Lions 7-3.
On the opening drive of the game the Cowboys defense had a chance to get a quick 3 and out.
They allowed 11 yards that kept the drive alive for the Lions.
As a result, Detroit got inside the Dallas 30.
The defense was able to hold them to a 41-yard field goal that put the Lions up 3-0 early in the first.
This defense played well for most of the first half outside of a couple of drives.
OFFENSE
The offense had a nice drive going until Dak Prescott tried to force a ball to CeeDee Lamb that resulted in an interception.
It was only Prescotts third INT at home this season.
Just a bad decision.
The second offensive possession for the Lions ended with a punt.
The Dallas pass rush finally got home and sacked Jared Goff pushing them out of field goal range.
The Cowboys second drive started backed up and after Pollard run for -3.
On third-and-13, Prescott escaped a sack and found CeeDee Lamb for a 92-yard touchdown to take the 7-3 lead.
Jourdan Lewis jumped a wide receiver screen and got the ball back for the offense on the second play of the 2nd quarter.
No Running Game
This team has an obvious problem on offense.
They have ZERO running game and it kills most drives, backing them up.
I don’t understand how it’s this bad.
This team CONTINUES to hurt themselves.
After a Lamb catch near the goal line, he fumbled the ball into the end zone resulting in a touchback.
After a fake punt, the Lions went for it on 4th and goal. The defense stepped up and held them out of the end zone.
Two weeks in a row this team shoots themselves in the foot. It’s the worst rule in football, but this stuff can’t keep happening!
Aidan Hutchinson ended any type of points the Cowboys looked to add to end the half after beating Tyron Smith for a big sack.
The Cowboys dominated the first half, yet find themselves down on the score board at the break.
They get the ball to start the third quarter, they need to score a touchdown.
Offense needs to be better.
