Without a doubt, one of the youngest groups this Dallas Cowboys team has is guys in the tight end room.

CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens will be the focal point of the offense this season, but with the way that the running back room is looking, these tight ends on the roster are going to need to jump into elite status as a collective group.

CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens will be the focal point of the offense this season, but with the way that the running back room is looking, the tight ends on the roster are going to need to jump into elite status as a collective group.

Not Just Ferguson

After a Pro Bowl campaign in 2023 where Ferguson put up 761 yards and five touchdowns, he slid in his third season with just 494 yards and didn’t find the end zone once in 14 games. Injuries played a part in some of that, but all in all, Ferguson wasn’t the same player that the Cowboys saw in 2023.

Princeton Fant, Brevyn Spann-Ford and John Stephens Jr. are the next in line to see what they can give the team.

I really like Brevyn Spann-Ford. He is one heck of a blocker, so I would enjoy seeing more out of him this season with a young offensive line and another running back by committee.

Schoonmaker may have done just enough when given the opportunity to show the team he could be a reliable option when he needed to step up but as a former second-round pick will need to take a big step forward in his third season.

He is the biggest key for this team to get to the elite level in terms of tight end play.

You have a great blocker in Spann-Ford, now you need a two-headed monster to catch the ball in Ferg and Schoonmaker.

In Jake Ferguson’s absence, he started in six games, played in 17, and reeled in 27 receptions for 241 yards and his first career touchdown.

With a struggling running back room, but two elite wide outs, the tight end room should get plenty of chances to ball out, and if this offense wants to be one of the best in football, they need all these guys to take their game to the next level and become elite.

Let’s see how the summer goes, but it sounds like this offense has everyone they need, and don’t plan on adding anymore star power.

a Dallas Cowboys fan, since the 70’s Jake Ferguson shuold get a lot of passes thrown to him because defenses will try a double team both George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb

I really don’t understand why people are so worried about the RBs on the roster!! We have a lot better of a RB group than you think apparently!! Williams is finally getting back to normal after his knee injury and when he’s fully back to normal, he’ll ball out, I can guarantee that!! He was really good before the injury, and you don’t just bounce back from a major injury like that, it’s gonna take a couple years!! And I think we signed him just in time for him to get back to what got him drafted in the 2nd round to begin with!! And if I’m right, we won’t need another RB!! But we do…. We have Blue, who should’ve been drafted a lot earlier, and would have been if he had more carries in college!! He’s already being compared to Achane and Pollard, and those are some good RBs to be compared to!! And then we have Phil Mafah, and to this day, I still don’t understand how he fell to the 7th round!! Some experts had him going as high as the 3rd round!! And from what I’ve seen, I see why!! He was no worse than a 4th round talent!! But this draft was so loaded with RBs that a lot of good ones fell a lot further than they should have!! And then we have Miles Sanders who just a couple years ago ran for over 1,200 yards!! He did fall off in Carolina, but not many players go there and actually get better, so there’s a good chance that he can get back to his Philly ways and ball out for us!! Even if he don’t, I really believe that the other 3 will ball out for us!! I’m positive that out of all of them we’ll have at least one of them ball out and prove all you doubters wrong!! I’m sure of that!! So all you doubters, stop freaking out over nothing, we’ll be fine with the RBs we have!!

But as far as the TEs go, I think they’ll ball out too!! Both Jake and Luke are great pass catchers, so one of them will see plenty of targets with Lamb and Pickens getting all the attention!! And I think some people are underestimating Spann-Ford, he is a great blocker, but he’s also a really good pass catcher too!! He just didn’t get as many opportunities cause he was so good at blocking, but he can catch too!! And I’ve been hearing that he’s gotten a lot of first team reps in practice, so it looks like the coaches see it too!! But either way, we have 3 really good TEs, idk if they’ll end up being ELITE, but they’ll be really good!! But like I said in my other comment…. We will have a good RB room, so we don’t need our TEs to be elite like you say they need to be!!
