Cowboys turn it over 5 times, lose to Eagles 34-6

As the Dallas Cowboys welcomed back Micah Parsons on defense, they also said goodbye to Dak Prescott who is out for the year.

Cooper Rush made his first start since 2022 when he went 4-and-1 in place of Prescott. That one loss came to the same team the Dallas Cowboys lost to this afternoon, the Philadelphia Eagles.

Honestly, for the first time in about three years, I felt, coming into a season even with the entire roster in place, that this team was not very good.

Rush battled as much as he could, but this shows that the lack of winning had nothing to do with Prescott, for all you that wanted him benched for some odd reason.

The Cowboys looked like the worst team in football, losing 34-3.

Saw This Coming

The Cowboys defense played awesome in the first half, even forcing two turnovers. That is the reason they had a chance in this game.

Cooper Rush did enough on offense to make sure they didn’t lose the game, until that wasn’t good enough.

In the first half alone, Dallas had five sacks.

That tied for the highest sack total in a first half of any regular season game in the last 25 years (since 2000, multiple times).

The last time the Cowboys had five sacks in a first half was in 2015 against New England (10/11).

Rush had 36 passing yards in the first half. The offense is still not good under Mike McCarthy this season.

Mike Zimmer defense had one bad drive to end the half giving up 80 plus yards to end the half that ended in a touchdown.

Eagles took a 14-6 lead into the locker room. Dallas had a chance to score from the 6 yard line and couldn’t gain a single yard.

Rush missed a wide open Lamb in the end zone.

Ezekiel Elliott also fumbled the ball into the end zone that costed them posts, yet he was in on the next drive.

This coaching staff is not holding anyone accountable and it showing week after week.

That was the last time the game felt close. They turned it over FIVE times.

LONG STRETCH

The second half started with a stop on defense, but once again the offense could not even pick up a first down.

The Eagles then cruised down the field and took a 21-6 lead.

With the next game against the Texans on Monday night, when does Dallas turn to Trey Lance, full time?

Well…. Lance got put into the game late into the third quarter. He didn’t do much either, this team is just so bad.

Lance ran two plays and then got pulled. Was put back in and turned it over. Shocker.

This team is so hard to watch week in and week out, with or without Dak Prescott.

I really hope Jerry Jones does not give McCarthy a pass because of all the injuries and let him come back next season.

Dallas set an NFL record. They have now trailed by 20+ points in their last 5 home games. First time in NFL history.

I can tell you I didn’t think this season was going to be this bad.

When it rains, it pours. This team has so many problems to address going forward.

I hope they flex the Cowboys out of Primetime for the rest of the season so folks don’t have to watch this anymore.

Changes need to be made, but Jerry Jones will let this play out the rest of the season and we are going to suffer for the next two months.

I can’t wait for the NFL draft in Ap
