Micah Parsons “wearing thin,” around The Star?

A football player in a navy and white uniform practices at Training Camp, with a teammate holding a football in the background.

Shan Shariff of Dallas sports radio station 105.3 The Fan dropped some interesting news on Friday regarding how some within the Dallas Cowboys organization might feel about Micah Parsons.

Here we go again…..

Shariff said a handful of people have told him that Parsons has “worn thin there.”

First of all, what does that even mean? Secondly, Parsons will probably end up speaking about this at some point on his podcast just like he did when Jesse Holley called him out.

Starting To Get Weird

At some point we might have to start believing what some of these people say, but it’s odd.

It started a few months ago when Holley said Parsons “is probably the most selfish player on this football team,” and only wants to be great for himself and nobody else.

Parsons then responded on his pod saying he is willing to do whatever helps the team win games.

Well, here we are again, in the middle of the offseason, and people are talking about Micah again.

I don’t know how much I trust this information that Shariff dropped to us all, but he clearly is closer than any of us to the situation.

Parsons has two years left on his current deal, he’s already earned Defensive Rookie of the Year, a two-time First-Team All-Pro selection.

Dez Bryant’s Response

Dez Bryant remembers the media around the Star all to well.

He thinks now that Micah Parsons is close to maybe becoming the highest paid defensive player in league history, the media is just playing games with him.

Check out his tweet below.

In March of 2015, the Cowboys placed a franchise tag on Bryant and he was very vocal about the situation.

He has dealt with his first hand, he told all of Cowboys Nation that if he didn’t get a contract he wouldn’t show up for the team.

Both sides butted heads, he has said that many times since his playing days ended.

Bryant did in fact sign a five-year, $70 million contract that included $45 million of guaranteed money and a $20 million signing bonus.

It seems the front office may be trying to play games again knowing Micah is about to be paid.

We Don’t Have Names

This is what I’ll end with — until we have the names of who said these things about Micah, all we have is drama from those “around” the team.

Sure, Micah Parsons is a guy who likes to talk his trash, but that’s who he is, he isn’t a quiet kid sitting in the corner getting all A’s, he’s the one who is loud and proud about it.

The Dallas Cowboys are going to have to pay he, CeeDee Lamb for sure, but after that who knows.

It seems that Dak Prescott is playing for his career in Dallas this season if a deal doesn’t get done.

Yet they are doing the rest of the team no favors by not getting deals done to create more cap space. Jerry and the clan could create over $50M if they really wanted to.

They will use the draft again, fail like they always do, and it might be time to say goodbye to this core group of ever winning anything.

If you really want to know all that goes on when it comes to this stuff, click on the Dez Bryant tweet above and check out his Twitter.

He does a good job telling us the truth about how/way this happens inside that organization.

But again, until I hear some names with the drama, I’ll leave it at that. Micah has the chance to be maybe the best defender in Cowboys history, let him be who is he is.

1 solo and 1 assist in the GB playoff blowout last year for the “All Pro”. “Best defensive player in Cowboy history” is premature, IMO. I loved the pick, and he certainly has a great burst, but that performance in the biggest game of the year is sub-par maybe even for a rotational guy.

BTW, he still has two years left on his current, so why all this money talk now?

I don’t buy it. The man’s a competitor. He’s top notch.
Big ego? Loud – annoying maybe even? Who cares!
Fake,news.

I seriously hope that you aren’t insinuating that they fail in the draft. Especially since they are still one of the better drafting teams in the league. It’s one of the few areas where they usually do better than average.

If you mean they’ll fail to advance in the playoffs again, sadly, I’ll have to agree with you as long as Dak and Mike McCarthy are the Captain and the Navigator of this ship.

“Fail in the draft again”
What are u talking about???
That has to be a typo or u just don’t follow the Dallas Cowboys at all…
They have been one of the best if not the best drafting teams in more than a decade….
Last years draft seems like a poor one but this year will tell us a lot more about that class…
I enjoy Most of ur articles but this one sets me back a little…
Everyone who knows the NFL knows the Cowboys can draft their Azzz off…
It’s bad enough they get killed about everything else but Drafting u can’t touch them…

Ooh and as far as MP goes…
Trade him asap before his value goes down…we can’t afford to pay 3 players To Set The Market contracts…
Soo Parsons would be the one I would trade….we would get Two 1st rd picks + a player I would think because off what he has accomplished at such a young age…
The Cowboys would still be a contender and have Great Draft Capital to improve the roster…

I’m really curious on how Zimmer is going to use Parsons this season. Lots of speculation, but not a lot of specifics. Quinn went from mixing him around between off the ball and pass rushing to nearly pure pass rusher last season, to Parson’s detriment. It allowed teams to scheme double-teams and help more consistently. The refs refusing to see any holding calls committed against him for long stretches certainly didn’t help.Zimmer mixing him in differently or backing him off at the snap could create some real mismatches for others. Letting him rush from off the ball on delayed blitzes could open things up for him as well.

All that being said, a change of scenery may benefit him. The refs seemed to have it in for him last season. Maybe if he was on a different team, with different coaches that are better able to work the refs, he would get those holding calls more often.

Referring to how many times they have tried to win a Super Bowl thru the draft and waste nothing but Hall Of Fame careers of everyone they hit on. Jerry isn’t going to win a title doing his way. Needs to hire a real GM.

as a Cowboys fan, Micah Parsons talk too much and he doesn’t let his game do the talking and all the sports media group and Jerry Jones have Micah Parsons believe he’s the best player on the Cowboys defense and that’s also why Jerry Jones won’t trade Micah Parsons either
