What did we learn, if anything?
Sixth and even seventh-round draft picks are as close to throw away selections as it gets. It’s rare for any of these players drafted this late to make much of an impact, but it does happen. Again, there’s any clue as to which way Mike McCarthy may be leaning this late in the draft. We once again see a special teams player being drafted, this time a kicker (Mason Crosby). After what the Dallas Cowboys just went through with Brett Maher it’s a pick that certainly makes sense. I’d much rather them draft a starting caliber kicker then a player that won’t even make the team. Something to think about here in the sixth and quite possibly a round earlier in the fifth.
