Week 10 Injury Report: Star player eyes return for Cowboys

The 2024 NFL season has not been kind to the Dallas Cowboys when it comes to injuries. Other teams like the San Francisco 49ers have suffered the same terrible luck, but it’s another level when it’s America’s Team.

Let’s dive in a take a look at who will be available this Sunday from a very long injury report. Spoiler alert: a star player eyes his return for the Cowboys.

Week 10 Injury Report: Star player returns for Cowboys

Dallas Cowboys

As has become the norm this season, the Dallas Cowboys injury report is as long as a CVS receipt around Christmastime. The list is long, and it has some important names on it.

Out

  • CB DaRon Bland (foot)
  • QB Dak Prescott (hamstring)
  • S Juanyeh Thomas (concussion)

It’s no surprise to see QB Dak Prescott will not be available for Sunday. Prescott’s hamstring injury turned out to be more serious than any of us anticipated. The tendon partially detached itself from the bone, and Prescott will be placed on injured reserve.

It’s very possible that we have seen the last of Prescott in 2024, and it may be the Cooper Rush and Trey Lance show until 2025.

CB DaRon Bland continues to struggle to return from a foot injury suffered in training camp. Cowboys Nation anxiously awaits the return of the All-Pro, but it will have to wait at least another week.

S Juanyeh Thomas is in the concussion protocol, and is out for this game. He will be reevaluated next week to determine if he can return to the practice/game field.

Questionable

  • CB Trevon Diggs (calf)
  • LT Tyler Guyton (neck/shoulder)
  • LB Eric Kendricks (shoulder)
  • LB Micah Parsons (ankle)
  • LB Nick Vigil (foot)

Although they listed five players as questionable, only two players are truly a game-time decision, while the others are expected to play. LT Tyler Guyton has been dealing with a neck/shoulder issue, and although trending up, don’t be surprised if the Cowboys decide to sit him for this game.

Nick Vigil is still ailed by a foot injury, and did not practice on Friday.

CB Trevon Diggs continues to play with a partially torn calf. It shows his dedication to the team and to his defense, and is a much-needed presence with Bland still sidelined.

LB Eric Kendricks is ailed by a shoulder injury, and was limited in practice on Friday. Kendricks wears the green dot on defense, meaning he calls the plays in the huddle and makes pre-snap adjustments. He is an important part of the game.

Perhaps the most important player in this entire article is finally moved from the OUT designation to QUESTIONABLE after missing four games plus the bye week. Star EDGE rusher Micah Parsons appears good to go, and will provide a boost in pass rush for a team sorely lacking one.

No Designation

  • CB Caelen Carson (shoulder)
  • DT Linval Joseph (back)
  • WR CeeDee Lamb (shoulder)
  • RG Zack Martin (shoulder)

Three shoulder injuries and a back injury are not enough to keep CB Caelen Carson, DT Linval Joseph, WR CeeDee Lamb, and RG Zack Martin off the field this Sunday. All four practiced in full on Friday, and are ready to go for Sunday afternoon.

Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles enter the week 10 divisional contest as the healthier team, by far. Only one player is listed as questionable, and all others on the report are ready to play.

Questionable

  • LB Ben VanSumeren (concussion)

LB Ben VanSumeren is a game-time decision. He is in the concussion protocol, and might not clear before the game.

No Designation

  • G Mekhi Becton (ankle)
  • WR AJ Brown (knee)
  • TE Dallas Goedert (hamstring)
  • DE Bryce Huff (wrist)
  • T Fred Johnson (knee)
  • C Cam Jurgens (wrist)
  • WR Ainias Smith (ankle)
  • WR Devonta Smith (hamstring)
  • OLB Nolan Smith (groin)
  • OLB Josh Sweat (hip)
  • LB Jeremiah Trotter (hip)

The Eagles listed 11 players on their injury report that now have no game designation. Philadelphia appears at full strength to take on their biggest rival.
